Gamespot is constantly locking threads and moderating people for very minor things. Often I see a thread locked for no reason whatsoever. Frankly i'm also a bit tired about being moderated just for voiceing my opinion about the moderaters. kingyotoX
u think gamespot is strict try playing runescape u cant even say butt
I know now that GameSpot is too strict, like comeon. There was this thread about typing your name with your elbows and I did it and then I typed out to show them what I was trying to type. And then I get into trouble for "Disruptive posting". What gets me is that I had this thread where I was asking a question on if anyone knew why my calfs were so itchy and people are talking about scratings their private areas and NOTHING happens to them. I went to the Ask the Mods board and the moderator never got back to me after a while. :( I still can't believe this, this reminds me of my mother, nit picks at such little things for no reason.
That deserves a moderation. That isn't discussion.:|I know now that GameSpot is too strict, like comeon. I haven't had too many problems, but for some reason, I was not allowed to put the word "class" in my post because that was "highly subjective", or something along those lines. Gamespot is definately strciter than a lot of other forumsI post in, but I think this place walks a fine line. :)
I'm getting tired of it too. We should be able to say whatever the hell we want to. WILL_423Private site. They can make their own rules. If it bothers you then you could post elsewhere.
I have been to stricter forums over the years. I do like a forum with a freedom of expression but moderating where moderatings due is fine, but if someone gets penalised for a small thing and someone who is blantly breaking the rules gets off scott free isnt all that fair really.

Regardless of the fact that people were following instructions, the resulting posts in that thread were basically gibberish, which is pretty clear disruptive posting. Just because someone tells you to do something doesn't mean that you should.
Obviously. I don't see how it's bad to spit out profanities in the form of typed words, when just about every here (I'm guessing) already swears all the time in real life. So what difference would it make?camreeno360Not everyone wants to read a bunch of profanity though.

Actually, I usually don't pick arguments with Mods, but you are wrong here. As long is it is relative to the topic it isn't disruptive.
Example: On a food related thread, talking about pasta is fine, but if the disscussion is on the next president and someone says they love alfredo, that is disruptive. So, since they we're going to get some gibberish by typing with elbows, but it was related to the topic, it should've been fine. Thus refer to this post as evidence to my other.

Usually, yes, on topic posts are not disruptive... but it's still disruptive if the topic itself is disruptive. The topic title might as well have been "post random characters here". It doesn't create any discussion or meaningful content of any kind and posting to it just keeps the topic at the top of the thread list.
Like I said, just because someone tells you to do something doesn't mean it doesn't break the ToU to do so.
