Do you think the missile launched by the California coast was ours or Chinese?

I think the Pentagon is just denying they launched it beause its new technology and they don't want people to know about it. But then again, why would they launch a new weapon that close to shore whee people would be able to see the missiles exhaust trail? Would another country be stupid enough to launch a rocket that close to our shore? If it was in our air space that would be considered an act of war, correct?

I heard that theory as well. It doesn't hold water. You can visibly see the object putting out the contrail, and it sure doesn't look like an airplane. Not to mention the fact that the contrail is just too big to be a jet. It doesn't match the contrail of any plane I've ever seen or heard of. It actually looks just like an ICBM.

Nope...When initial testing of secret aircraft (like the SR-71) took place, it was at Area 51, which is restricted airspace.

Whenever the Pentagon conducts any sort of military operations near the U.S., such as air-to-air combat sorties or missile firing over national waters, then coordination must occur with federal and state agencies to avoid accidents.

For example, one job I had was controlling air-to-air fighter combat training in over water areas. These areas had FAA air traffic corridors in between them (for New York and Washington airports). We were in constant contact with FAA Enroute Centers to ensure their weren't any conflicts between aircraft.

Having served, I agree that some secrecy must be maintained in the interest of national security.

However, it would be hard to keep it quiet...the military would have had to clear the intended flight path of all boats as well as aircraft.

The Coast Guard would have been out in force to keep the sealanes clear, and it looks as though they weren't, so this might not have been an American test.

It could be mistakes by DoD/Pentagon. Aren't there still some nukes that haven't been recovered from USAF air mishaps* during the Cold War? If they can mess those up, why not this one?

If it was a jet, they should be able to precisely pinpoint the position and time of that particular flight, but no one has said anyting or confirmed flights over that area. And the proximity of the object to the shore , as well as its speed (which you can see in the video) indicate that it was traveling extremely fast. Much to fast to be a commercial airline jet. So it's a missile or secret aircraft.

Yes, because this smoke trail that you can plainly see ascending from the ground in an enormous plume:

Looks just like the thin horizontal contrails you see from fighter jets:

Also notice how in the first picture the smoke plume is going vertically at first. Last I checked fight jets don't take off by shooting straight up into the air at a 90 degree angle.
