I watched DBZ first, then Dragonball. I have watched most of the movies as well but I have only seen the about the first 10 episodes of GT
As other users also said, I really liked how in Dragonball the other characters (like Yamcha, Tien, Krillin, etc.) are actually relevant and not getting pwned every fight

yup. I would say that's because DB had a decent story and decent action. DBZ had a great story with very few plotholes (something people love about ongoing shows) and great action. And GT was like plothole plothole plothole plothole plothole plothole. In fact I think the whole thing was one big plothole.

Because they really are great character and should have been more involved :(

Sure the ending was pretty sweet, but it let most of it's cast become pointless and it was the first saga to have a few fairly noticeable plotholes
I watched it when they were showing it on Cartoonnetwork. I enjoyed it quite a lot actually but having watched DBZ & DBZ GT before watching DragonBall, it was weird watching Goku struggling to beat guys like Master Rochi, Krillen & The Ox King.

I watched quite a few episodes when I was little, I hated it. Actually when people started telling me Dragon Ball Z was awesome I didn´t beleive it and didn´t watch it for a while.
I'm surprised with the amount of GT hate around here, I think the first few episodes were horrible (searching for the dragon balls and all) but the baby saga was pretty awesome IMO (however the last time I watched it I was 8)

i liked yamcha before he became a model or something and became useless and i really liked him more in the Dragon ball series, as a kid i would try to replicate his wolf fang fist alot. But yeah later on dragonball z became all about the sayains and it made sense, their the only ones that could destroy the villians but i feel they could have had the side characters be more involved in helping. Not standing on the sideline gasping every 5 seconds

As for the original Dragonball, the beginning and end of the series is awesome, but the middle of the series is fairly boring.

Who the hell would skip DB? As a girl who likes cute things, it was my favorite. I was never such a hardcore fan that I would know if I watched every episode (I didn't keep track), but I watched it a LOT on tv when I was a kid, every night.
In here they showed Dragon Ball first and then DBZ on TV, everyone at school was pretty shocked and wondered what was all this stuff about Z. Darthkaiser
In Mexico, Something similar happened. Dragonballz never went past the Frieza part. It just repeated from the beginning after that. But then one day, it continued to the android saga and everyone was shocked.
Anyway, I watched dragonball but missed an episode here and there.
I have every episode of Dragonball/ Z / GT on VHS and DVD. I also have all themovies on DVD, even the GT ones and the History of Trunks, etc., and some on Blu-ray. I have given plenty of money to this series.
Years ago when I watched DBZ on tv I had no idea DB and DBGT existed(I was just a kid who liked watching tv). But not so long ago I decided to watch all the DBZ episodes online because I never finished watching them on tv and I discovered DB and DBGT and watched them all in order. I thought DB was awesome. I didn't have those big epic battles between hugely overpowered characters but it was still awesome in it's own way. As for GT I liked it but it didn't have that same feeling DB and DBZ had, plus Pan was really annoying sometimes. Anyway in short yes I watched it and yes I liked it a lot.

Yamcha and Bulma are alright
Pretty sure DBZ screened here first. It was the first I saw anyway. I've seen a few episodes of DB but couldn't enjoy them as much. Currently watching DBZ again on cartoon network, up to Gohan vs. Cell. I think the creators are genius when it comes to creating suspense and leaving people wanting more.
I saw most of everything but missed the piccolo arc which im upset i did. I saw the run when it was on tv. I would like to finish seeing it but I find i never have the time.
