Thing is though, we might not accept it but thats foriegn policy for you it serves to give you power on the world stage and form a stance, me and LJS have said that and Panama is a prime example of this, he who controls the Suez and the Panama canal effectively control the world. The superpowers will always strive to have control of these due to their strategic nature.Im not justifying America's behaviour only saying thats probably why there was involvement in Panama.

Thats world politics, you make yourself big and powerful to serve your own needs any way necesarry, the same can be said for how Ecuador is acting on the world stage currently getting involved in a situation which has nothing to do with them and partially influenced by Assange. Its an exercise for them to use their foreign policy to try and give them a bit more of a voice on the world stage and really their 15min of fame.

Well we haven't had Ecuador or China or Cuba or Panama or Argentina or Nigeria or Iceland or even the Societ Union ovethrowing governments, financing murders and kidnappings and manipulating governments in the area yet. So until that happens I trust them more than I do the US.

Are you serious. Soviet Union as innocent?

Not innocent but they weren't helping kill people all over Latinamerica unlike the US.

They were too busy killing people all over Asia. But I think the USSR did have its hands in several south/central american countries back in the war. They had connections to Castro's regime and possibly the Sandinistas

I dont have any records of that. Why would they do that? Were they trying to one up the Russians after they shot down two Korean Airliners?

[QUOTE="kuraimen"]Well you lie your trust in whatever parties you like. I bet you don't trust the iranian government right? well I don't trust EU or the US government. They have shown time and again how they manipulate and will do terrible things for their own benefits. Hard to trust someone with such a record.razgriz_101

27 Contries in the EU and the USA , thats alot of anger you have built up their my friend.

Also some of those 27 are possibly some of the most peaceful contries there are.

And best laugh is one of THE most peaceful is Sweden...for god sake the Nobel peace prize is named after an inventor of Swedish origin aswell.....

Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize...doesn't say much about the Nobel.

Yeah, they didn't help kill a few people in Latin America (like the U.S. supposedly did) Instead they were killing millions of their own people.

Dissident terrorism against Cuba regime. They got backed up by the CIA like Somoza in Nicaragua and the militaries in Guatemala.

I must say it is quite strange for me to see that people talk about my country. I though people from first world countries didn't even know of the existence of Panama.

"You hope he isnt serious"? Dont people say that when it is something that is terrible logic that could be very detrimental to think about the world around them? Just because you disagree with his post, doesnt mean that it is a serious problem for him.

oh but they did in their own back yard, look at their attempted regime change in Afghanistan in the 80's which was another proxy war for East vs West, they also had their hand in Cuba and hmm i dunno there was that thing called the Cuban missile crisis, not to mention that we all know in some way the KGB did provide support to the likes of Guevera but the CIA finally caught up with him.

Not to mention Vietnam itself was a prime example of both sides manipulating the country and tearing it apart for use of their own foreign policies, just because it wasnt in Latin America as much as US intervention doesnt mean it didnt exist.

A lot of people forget that to the super powers central America, especially Panama (more so during the coldwar) is a major strategic point and resource wise Latin America is a resource heavy continent, thus why foreign policy of China,America and Russia seem to vest great intrest in the continent. As we will say again foreign policy is designed to be self serving.
