I believe some time ago they felt they had found part of the giant boat....as for ghosts....while not spoken about in the Bible....can you provide proof that they don't exist?

Engrish_Major

Even if they found parts, do you actually believe that Noah put 2 of every creature on it? That's part of what makes the bible laughable. As for the ghosts, well, there once was this man named Jesus, and then he died, well, you know the rest.

Bible 101.....creatures that he had in his world. Not the entire planet. Just the important animals to his liveliehood.

Jesus was a man at the very least.

. . . . . . .Goody?

Men far smarter than Einstein have said God exists. . . . . .I suppose you'll believe them now?

There are only two reasons why you would make this topic: Either you think that Einstein was smart and therefore his opinions on what the Bible is must be true, or you simply want to start a flame war.

Either way, I smell a troll.

disprove Jesus' existence and I'll find your argument valid. It doesn't say he was a ghost either. did you ignore my post earlier? There are a million different explenations for this beliefe that he "rose from the dead" (that would make him an undead technically. not a ghost). his existence was proven. his death and supposed "ressurection" has neither been proven nor disproven beyond the point that there is proof that he was "executed". like i said before. it is possible that it was a premature burial and he wasn't in fact dead.

Possibly...but there are a lot of people here and one or two may be smarter or just as smart. Second.....that doesn't actually matter. He couldn't and didn't know if his OPINION was correct. And without verifiable proof his opinion is as valid as anyone else's dude.

Anything new or thoughtful about this? Nope. Instead, I'm seeing and hearing the same stuff I have been hearing for ages from GS members. Seriously, nobody can prove that God doesn't exist nor can we prove he exists. Lets just admit that we'll find out whether God exists or not once we die.

I have not, because I could not keep reading. I have not stated any "facts", just opinions.

then why do you argue against the facts that your accusations of the bible were false and that his opinion matters over ours because according to history he was smarter than us even though he couldn't even tie his own shoes?

he never stated that his opinions on religion were fact. he only stated that "Science without religion is lame and Religion without Science is blind". This was also an opinion (one that I respect because it makes sense to me, though I'm agnostic). he never said or implied that we had to believe him on the matter because he was "smarter than us".

But you just felt the need to post the opinions of Albert Einstein. Since Albert is more well-known than other men for being very smart, I think you simply made this topic to go "hah, this man believes x, so x must be true, since he was so smart!"

You never mentioned opinions or anything of the like in your OP.

One does not require proof to make their opinion of more worth than anothers.

No it's not. What are you saying? Being informed =/= proof.

Engrish_Major

I'm not talking about proof...your statement stunned me is all.

What is stunning about proof not needed to make a valuable opinion?

How about the fact that you call the Bible "laughable?":|

A valuable opinion should be based on something. Not arbitrary.

It can be based on something without having proof.

[QUOTE="famicommander"]I share Einstein's perspective, but this proves nothing. Einstein's opinion on the existence of god is no more valid than mine or yours.sSubZerOo

You guys honestly fail at reason.. He is going after specific major religions teachings/writings.. I take it then that if a person believes in a god they must be Christian or Jewish?

I certainly hope not. I wouldn't like to be associated/categorized as being part of a cult/sect/religion just because I believe in GOD.

To me, Christians believe in ghosts. Beings without physical form still living. I do not believe in ghosts, and seemingly neither did Einstein.

Engrish_Major

then you ovbviously know nothing of the Christian religion because no where does any part of it support the existence of "ghosts". It actually says otherwise.

The soul leaving the body? The appearance of jesus to the 500 and the disciples? Sounds like ghosts to me.

yeah but if he "came back to life" then that means he was a physical BEING. it's like if i am clinically dead and they bring me back to life with shock treatment or whatever. that doesn't make me a ghost. by technicality - according to superstition - that would make me a zombie or a vampire.
