I think its a case of underated. He is a great actor and LOTR he was awesome, also I liked him a small film called "Green Street". However I don't think he has that something extra that makes him really stand out. For example Leonardo Di'Caprio I believe is better because he has some spark about him, and can play the more interesting characters that are slightly unhinged. I wouldn't put him in the all time great either however.
Â
To be honest I am not really a super film-buff anyway so I am probably talking out of my bottom :P
I agree with you......I don't get why anyone needs to make a thread about Lai.It's bad enough that OT gives Laihendi constant attention in political threads, but now he has to be the center of attention in movie threads too (I have no doubt this thread was conceived as Laihendi-bait)? Sheesh.
In b4 somebody says I'm jelly.

I know it is a typical answer, but Jack Nicholsan is the man. Â Many other good ones, especially on HBO and SHowtime shows. Â Game of Thrones has some very good actors. Â
It's at least somewhat funny here since Laihendi is hilariously incompetent at talking about Art.It's bad enough that OT gives Laihendi constant attention in political threads, but now he has to be the center of attention in movie threads too (I have no doubt this thread was conceived as Laihendi-bait)? Sheesh.

[QUOTE="lostrib"][QUOTE="Laihendi"] No they did not. You are being ignorant. His performance was a perfect realization of Frodo. If you dislike his performance then that just means you dislike the character, regardless of the performance.Laihendi
he was outshined by Sean Astin
No he was not. Sean Astin is an excellent actor, but he by no means outshined Elijah. Frodo became very ill as the movie progressed and relied on Sam to continue his quest. That is a matter of the characters in the story and their relationship to each other, not a matter of one actor outshining the other. Frodo/Sam is perhaps the most beautifully realized friendship in both literature and film.I have to agree, I cried big time at the end of The Fellowship of the Ring.I love him in LotR and Wilfred, and his voice acting is always top notch, but lately I believe the most underrated actor is Leonardo DiCaprio.trick_man01
I'd hardly call DiCaprio underrated.

Seriously. DiCaprio is one of the best actors out there,  and  he is very widely recognized as such.
