The Beatles.....i've never heard much from Elvis that i've liked.
Though I will say that they're both a bit overrated...
J-Man725
Prescilla is overrated. Elvis has done some good stuff though.

Honestly, the only reason The Beatles were great was because of Lennon.whos_next000
That is about 33% true...

McCartney had some good music in The Beatles....your statement is denied.

That was in response to popularity...as for his genre comment....the only think I made in response to the question vis a vis Elvis' talent verse Beatles talent was that neither was necessarily a determining factor. As fore the Beatles...while they were rock...the were still pop.
Wait, so did I not read everything? I look down upon people looking down upon me. The post you were responding to had nothing to do with popularity. Whatever you meant, you responded in such a way so that my interpretation of what you said was not as insane as you seemed to have been claiming.Whatever....and I'm STILL WAITING for you to show me where I said The Beatles sucked...well?
I already said I was being sarcastic. Don't you read? All McCartney wrote were love songs and Yesterday (which is a very good song) >.> Lennon wrote the deep stuff, imo.whos_next000
So the subject matter bothers you? Initially The Beatles weren't that deep though...so without Paul...John may not have had the chance to develop.
NOTE: To quigly...this does not mean The Beatles suck. K?

Still, when it comes down to being down right evil...

Chicago rocks man.

I've learned to avoid the religion threads...some people here don't seem to understand there are people with beliefs of their own outside their little bubble....
Not been involved in much musical debates though...

All McCartney wrote were love songs and Yesterday (which is a very good song) >.> Lennon wrote the deep stuff, imo.No they wrote TOGETHER...they were known to help each other out on songs (though how much was always disputed :P) and while Lennon is agreed to be the more avant garde of the pair...without McCartney's input...The Beatles would be a very different beast...but then Harrison was always my favourite...
I already said I was being sarcastic. Don't you read?
quiglythegreat
I was being sarcastic in terms of the 'the Beatles suck' thing. You were ripping on them for very unsound reasons.
quiglythegreat
And the difference between "ripping on them" and "sucks" is what? Same meaning really. Next time read your entire post dude.
And you've yet to support EITHER statement....sarcastic or not.
It was a misunderstanding... one could easily misconstrue saying that a band is a 'boy band' as saying that they suck, and he was being sarcastic...EboyLOL
Nah...he's like that with every post I make. Finding out you were wrong and calling it sarcasm is a cheap way to wiggle out.
Edit: Though for curiosities sake....why do Beatles fans deny the history of the band? The music IS the music.

I could...nice song don't get me wrong....but overrated....imo of course :P plus I hate how this song's sparse but "economic"arrangement and it's repetition being able to hold attentionare cited as factors of McCartney's "genius"

Must have been. One time I saw this youtube video that said Frank Zappa, John Lennon, and Yoko Ono performing at the Fillmore or something and I thought "Wow, I can't believe two of my favorite musicians are performing on stage, together." So I start watching and Yoko Ono COMPLETELY ruins it. She was ****ing screeching. Not singing, screeching. The album I was talking about is Cloud Nine. It's sooooo boring, but I have to listen to it every time we're in the car
