As much as I hate MCR, they aren't emo. Pop/Punk=/= Emo

Being emo doesn't mean being suicidal. I wear clothes which label me as a 'sweaty' and My Chem (after Muse) are my favourite band. I love life and I'm not suicidal.

You can't put a law to ban people dressing how they want to. What needs to be done is to educate people to be more tolerant of each other's lifestyles. Like racism, attacking people for how they dress is a form of prejudice and shouldn't be allowed. People have been killed just for looking like a goth/emo and it's sick.

I've also been attacked and shouted at in the street for wearing black. It's sad how prejudice people are nowadays.

Ridiculous.

People should be able to dress whatever way they want and listen to whatever music they want. Anyone who seriously believes that this is a good idea is an idiot.

I don't know I prefer not to define people. If you dislike it then tough, I'm sure people dislike your taste in fashion/music. You used the word 'most'. I could say "Most black people are into gun crime" but that would be a huge generalization and is very prejudice. You've said the exact same thing but targeted a different group of people.

And thankyou, my boyfriend suffers from manic depression and is very sensitive about people judging him as emo. I'm sure he'll appreciate your thoughts!

For ME, the difference between TRULY hating someone/something and wanting to kill someone/something is very FINE, IMO.

I can think of 2 subcultures off the top of my head that are (or can be) more harmful to society than emo.
