Sorry, it's a beauty pagent, not a charity case.
You're right. This isn't a charity case, which is why I shall now spare you the lies and tell you the truth. You are one the ugliest "boys" running around on these forums. Thanks! Actually, I really don't care. There are things I can't do too. But I accept them and know my roles, like everyone else.
Quit being a hypocrite. You obviously cared enough about looks to have responded twice to this thread. What does my looks have to do with anything? How is this in any possible way relevant? Honestly. You're calling people shallow for judging a model. The very concept of beauty pagents and modeling is shallow and vain. Yet you judge them for it. I can understand why you would get defensive if they started insulting a random girl for being fat, but the fact that she's a model, she puts herself forth for criticism.
Actually, no. That's not the reason beauty contests were invented. You may try doing some research. They were invented to strengthen women back during a time when they were expected to stay at home and clean. There were school scholarships offered, money and a number of gifts to help a woman better her life. The general idea of a "beauty contest" was meant to find the beauty in a woman, mostly the inner beauty. Beauty contests have never been based soley on looks. They must be a well-rounded, kind human being in order to win. Which is clearly why they have picked the woman they have. Did you ever consider that she had a sparkle the others didn't? No, I'm sure you didn't.
You're right, it isn't about looks, which is why they flaunt women on stage in bikinis . It must also be why models rarely have bulimia, and why all the contestants in the Miss USA pagents have facial blemishes.
You also seem to forget the other half of the contest where they look into their lives and who they are.
You see only what you want to see.
Just because some people have obsessed themselves into throwing up, does not mean the basic idea of the pageant is such. Just because some atheletes take steroids to win, does it mean that's what the idea of the sport was meant to be about? Of course not, that's one track minded. Same goes for pageants.
You wish to think they judge soley on looks, and always have...you sir, are close-minded. As I said, do some history research - then you will see how much beauty pageants have helped women in the past to go to school, and help others. I'm sure you also don't realize that they're given money to donate to charities and are REQUIRED if they win, to do countless hours of volunteer work.
But hey, screw it! Since you clearly think they're all self-centered, why don't you go tell those orphanes that they won't be getting any donated money for Christmas gifts that year due to a stereotype.
First off, athletes take steroids to become more athletic. That's the point of sports. Models vomit after eating to become skinny, and thus more attractive, which is what pagents are about.
Secondly, while beauty pagents may have half of the scoring be about personal matters, it doesn't detract from the fact that all the women are caked in makeup to resemble a flawless doll (though I find them quite grotesque).
Thirdly, the charity, scholarship, and whole do-good charade is nothing more than that, a charade. It's a joke to get people to think a pagent is for a good cause.
Fourthly, clearly it's about helping charities, not raking in money. And I'm sure every teen in the Miss Teen USA pagent decided to be a model to help others. "I can help starving kids in Africa by standing up on a stage in a bikini". Do you seriously believe that?
How ridiculous. But I'm not going to stay here and argue all day about it. If you want to persist in blinding yourself in the name of being kind, then by all means do so.
