I too thought it was very clear but it looks like we didn't come to the same conclusion. He also accused me of reinterpreting his affirmations when I just quoted him. Maybe I'm hard of understanding but then again, maybe he could be more careful with his words.

Size 16 in a bikini is just wrong. I won't mind if she was wearing the fully covered dress. But bikini? ....

Before someone calls me shallow (which seems to be quite the thing in this topic!), I've had girlfriends and slept with girls that size before, I just don't find this one particularly attractive (not attractive enough for a beauty pageant anyway). AnubisCraig

You're missing the point. I mean of course you will find the woman you love attractive, of course you will respect her and of course we all find some persons more attractive than others. You're just stating the obvious. I'm just trying to understand why in that particuliar post you thought important of saying you're tired of women asking you to be respectful to "every ****ing women in the world", immediately followed by "I don't. Some women are, to me, more attractive than others!". I mean where's the link between the two affirmations if not that you only pay respect to those who you find attractive?

Note the '.' in there. They're two totally different statements.

lol, gotta agree with you there :P But at the same time, slightly over wieght is better than anoerexic. Plus her teeth bug me...what is it with the brits and teeth? Im not saying all British (wo)men have bad teeth, but an unussually high percentage of them do :?

She's not grossly overweight or even particularly unattractive, but I'm sorry, size 16 is not healthy. 10 is a pretty average size around her - 16 gets you into the plus size stores.DJ_Lae

English sizes are different by the way. Our Size 0 = your Size 4.

However, I respect her GREATLY for the fact that she's happy with her body. I sure wouldn't be happy if I was fat though.

Thanks! Actually, I really don't care. There are things I can't do too. But I accept them and know my roles, like everyone else.

What does my looks have to do with anything? How is this in any possible way relevant? Honestly. You're calling people shallow for judging a model. The very concept of beauty pagents and modeling is shallow and vain. Yet you judge them for it. I can understand why you would get defensive if they started insulting a random girl for being fat, but the fact that she's a model, she puts herself forth for criticism.

no, you can criticize without resulting to jokes and insults. some people in the thread did that. jokes and insults are just the heart of insecurity, which feeds the need to belittle people in order to feel better about oneself.

I agree with what Pearl says about criticism.

And adding this tid-bit myself, since when is real beauty measured by the size of your dress? Real beauty is not something as shallow as that. And she is a person, just like you and me, she has all the right to do what she wants and what she believes will make her happy.

Meh, she's not too bad at all. Certainly not vurp bad. I like full figured women but she is not my type exactly. Has a very pretty face though. I think the cankles are what's turning me off.

What I don't understand is why bigger people are always put down and dogged on. If you are overweigh, no matter how much or how little, you are considered a disgusting fat body who doesn't deserve to live. But if you puke every time you eat and weigh 1/2 lbs you are a very sick person who needs help and compassion badly. At least larger people are comfortable with who they are.

Yep, they really are cruel to the max. I watch some of the auditions sometimes because its funny. A lot of contestants are reduced to tears because they cant finish their song :(
