Like six-seven times throughout my time in school.
Two or three times for violence. (Guys fight all the time, every day, no one bats an eyelash. A fight starts in the girls locker room, it's sent to the headmaster, severe reprimand, phone call to parents and a days suspention, fair huh?)
Once for 'assaulting a teacher'. One week suspension. (I flicked an ink pot down her back and ruined her dress. Fashion assault maybe.)
Twice for alchoholic substances on premesis, two or three days suspension a time.

In my part of the country alchohol is taken very leniantly. You'd never get more than a few days suspension for alchohol or marijuana.
Nope, I knew school was important.Travo_basic
Because all intelligence should be measured on a child's ability to memorize standardised information.......
Not meant to be **** i just don't agree with the school system.

I got in school suspension once for getting into a fight in a locker room because someone through a cookie at my head, I went up to him a said "eat it" and I think he attacked me.

Didn't say that. But I wanted to get into college and knew that (most) colleges that I wanted to get into wouldn't look kindly on suspensions.[QUOTE="Travo_basic"]Nope, I knew school was important.Crazy_Jane

Indeed, good grades in school do not mean you will be successfull or that you are intelligent. My brother said somthing like this to me... Him: You got a D in math? Me: Yeah... Him: You are stupid Me: Just because i get bad grades, dosent make me stupid, it makes me lazy Him: No, it makes you stupid Me: No, it means i didnt try Him: Well, why wouldnt you try? Me: *Sighs*I was RPC'd quite a few times which is required parent conference. Similar to suspension but no time limit on them. I think I was suspended once and that was for missing a detention and cussing out a teacher.
Was a science teacher I had and I told him I could not make it to the detention as my ride home was my mom at the time and she had to stay home the whole day working on her taxes as it was nearing tax day and they had this tax guy coming to the house. I don't remember all the details. Anyways I came back the next day and the science teacher was laying it on pretty thick in the middle of class just giving me alot of crap so I cussed him out and he sent me to the dean's office and I thanked him for the vacation. That is all a suspension really is in the long run its just an extended vacation

Ive skipped detentions, more than one. I got nothing for it. Cusing out a teacher, well we will see :POnly been suspended twice, both in primary school.
I was suspended from school for 7 days to 10 days for making crude weapons out of stationary . This includes powerful slingshots, darts and bending paper-clips in such a way that they could be fired from an elastic band at window breaking speeds. I was about 7-8 at the time, and although I didn't actually do anything "wrong", parents got involved when other children copied my designs.
I also hit the headteacher and got suspended for that too, don't remember the story behind that though.

In elementry, we made these things called "hornets" they were puny paper footballs with lead/paper cliips or anything pointy at the tip. We used to fire em at eachother and it would make us bleed. One time, somone got hit by one. Now, they had a skin conditoin that made it very difficult to form a scab, so they would bleed forever. They got hit by one and it was bad. Really bad. Everyone shooting them got detention. :( nobody wanted to snitch on the guy who did it.In elementry, we made these things called "hornets" they were puny paper footballs with lead/paper cliips or anything pointy at the tip. Sounds similar to the darts we made. It was a tac which served as the point - usually flat headed with a long point - weighted with either blu tac or a penny, or both, surrounded by a specific way of folding paper around everything, then reinforcing it with sellotape. If made right they could be thrown a fair distance and lodge themselves in almost anything.
Wow the memories :P

As soon as I went to college, I realised what education was meant to be, when for the first week of the year we did nothing but sit with our classmates and two industry professionals, and talk about the subject at hand. Nothing more. I think everyone learned more in one week than in the previous year of regular school.

If i like the class, ill do good in it. So my grades are either a's or d's :(I got suspended for mis-dying my hair. I wanted purple and it came out pink. I've no idea why that warranted a suspension (maybe a clash with our uniforms?) but I wasn't about to argue the toss over a week off school to wash it out.jimmyjammer69Something similar happened to my friend, she dyed her hair and the school actually threatened her with expulsion if she didn't dye it back.

Probably, that seems pretty strict.
A couple of times, all from K-4th.
In fact, I was almost expelled in Kindergarden for throwing a large chair across the classroom at my teacher for taking away recess.

Aww, me too!
I had to wear a white shirt with a crimson blazer, with a short tartan skirt and knee high socks. What about you?

[QUOTE="jimmyjammer69"][QUOTE="Travo_basic"] Private school?Travo_basicNo, a CofE comprehensive. So they can dictate how you dress, how your hair is styled?Oh yeah, we had blazers, white shirts and black trousers, all had to be bought from one of two or three shops with NO room for deviation. Girls were forced to wear identical blouses and skirts within two inches either side of their knees. There was a total ban on jewellery of any kind and any attempt at individuality resulted in suspension or occasionally crucifixion.
Still not as bad as my primary school though - they forced me to wear grey shorts throughout the year until I hit 11. :(
Got into a few fights that were actually one sided beatings if anything. But I gave a few scratches to the other students involved in the midst of an attempted self-defense, so they were able to claim I started it yada yada yada, when they were always the ones who instigated and made the first move. The school faculty didn't take the time to actually care, so everyone got into trouble. A few more incidents like this followed by week long suspensions lead to my parents pulling me out of public school.SeraphimGoddess
Yeah, I claim shenanigans on public school self defense rules. If someone starts beating the crap out of you, according to the rules, you let them do it or it's all your fault.
