If everyone carries a gun when they go to work or school, then shootings like the Columbine High and Virginia Tech wouldn't have claimed so many lives of the innocent people. What do you think ? Is it a good idea ? :)

I think if everyone had a gun with them at all times, no one would want to point a gun in front of anyone.

Someone might intentionly hurt someone when they get butthurt.

While I think banning ownership of weapons is a dumb idea, I do not want everyone to carry a gun.

Every who hasn't committed a felony or has a mental illness, and who has taken classes, yes. Criminals don't fear the unarmed citizen.

There has to be some restrictions, even us second amendment supporters don't argue against that. But it should be easier for citizens without a criminal record to get a conceal to carry permit, not harder.

No, god no.

I'm not for gun control but there needs to be a mental wellness check and a requirement for a general gun safety course. Living near Detroit the last thing I want to worry about is some of the 'gangsta's' acting all hip because they are packing heat when they don't even know how to turn the safety on or have someone who is autistic carrying a gun.

Yeah, criminals would have to think twice or thrice before they rob someone or the bank.

While I do support a person's freedom to have a weapon, I do not actually advocate the carrying of weapons. There are places such as schools and government offices that I do not believe they should be carried by law however. I personally am nearly pacifist due to my belief that life is actually worth something. Does that mean defense is acceptable? Sometimes but not always. Only in absolutely extreme situations do I believe one can be just in being the aggressor. Also of note, you mention school. I hope you are not advocating the carrying of weapons by kids in high school.

It has some benefits but this is the big issue, some people, like the one above, will intentional look for trouble just so they can use there gun. Its like the macho man complex. A guy gets big and strong and now he just go around acting tough just looking to get into a fight to test his strength. Just replace muscles with guns. Macho wanna be guys will be picking fights just to have shoot outs.

The question is do the benefits out weigh the negatives of turning our world back into the wild wild west.

I think it's our right to bear arms, but students in school? no not students if thats what you are reffering to. Maybe certain school teachers. Or just have metal detectors at every entrance in every school.

Yeah but when everyone has a gun they wont know who the shooter is so everyone is gonna go guns blazing and shoot the **** out of each other. Results: more deaths.

Can you elaborate ?

Because whilst some might think that giving everyone a gun means everyone will be too scared to shoot each other, I personally think it would be the opposite. People get into fights where they beat each other to a pulp over insignificant things, now imagine they have a gun, what is there to stop people, in the heat of the moment, pulling the trigger. Nothing, and in fact, the idea that everyone has a gun is even more terrifying, somebody shoots someone in a blind rage and then some "perfect citizen" decides to kill this murderer for instant justice, after all, he could be a mad man! Also, think of a mugging. Somebody points a gun at you and you're unarmed, what do you do? You give them the damn money. But if YOU have a gun, what is there to stop you trying to be a hero? Nothing, and I guarantee a street criminal won't be scared by your gun, they'll just shoot you. There's just a hell of a lot more rational situations that would result in terrible outcomes than there are good scenarios.

you can pretty much see what happens in cities like NYC and washington d.c. which both have draconian gun laws yet have the highest amount of gun violence in the usa.

the statistics are right there in front of you, ignoring them is just silly.

gun control does nothing but assist criminals.

The day everyone in the United States walks around with a firearm is the day I move to Canada. I do not wish to live in such a violent and paranoid country where people feel the need to carry weapons that can kill around with them to the grocery store or to the movie theater.

No, if everyone carries a gun, then MORE shootings would happen. If LESS people had a gun, there would be LESS shootings. Not that hard to figure out, actually.

Glove Box, it's legal to have loaded too as long as it's in a glove boxer or center console

I am not gun control or anti-gun. I've owned a .38, but should everyone carry a gun? Absolutely not. A lot of mentally ill folks out there that have no business being near firearms.

Glove Box, I don't intend to use it, it's just there.

So you have a concealed weapons permit

If he gets pulled over and they search the car he'll get in trouble for failure to inform that's a felony in some states.

I think it makes sense. The only reason more nuclear bombs haven't been used is because of fear of retaliation. I think the same logic could be applied to if everyone had a gun, then people would be too afraid to use the in the first place.

Nah. Carrying a gun should be a privilege. It's your right to own and carry guns, but you have to show you can be responsible with it. I don't want everybody carrying a gun. People prone to violence will most likely use them far more often.

The way we have it now is good. People who pass a CCW class and a background check can get a license to conceal and carry. That's the way it should be.

Have fun regulating that in the country that produces the most arms in the world. I support people who take a class on arms (provided by the State) and takes a test (again provided by the State) to carry an arm weapon, if they want to. If people are mentally ill or can't past that test, then nope.

Maybe work on fixing your country because if you NEED a gun and EXPECT to be shot then it sounds like you're living in Mad Max.
