Does anyone think the LAPD would be taking this as seriously if Dorner threatened to kill only canine officers and the pets of human officers? What if his only victims so far were the pet dogs of a few human officers, and a couple of canine officers?

So alcoholism is a result of depressed people who have lack of sufficient social backing are the alcoholics. Consequently, tthe rest of society should help pay for their natural retribution? I guess if you are not a Darwinistic thinker this makes sense. Although no one has proved that the Darwinistic point of view is not<\i> a successful way to sustain life. Perhaps, from a humanistic standpoint, it makes sense, versus evolutionarily. Edit: I butchered this post, forgive me, I am on iPad. It bothers me probably more than you, but it is too tedious to go back and correct it all.lo_Pine

No, depression is not the only factor. I said it's one of the many factors out there.

And I didn't say that society needs to "pay" for their "natural retribution" (Do you even understand what I said about how poor mental health can cause alcoholism? Clearly you don't because you referred to alcoholism in such a silly, myopic fashion by calling it "natural retribution.") All I'm saying is that we can put an end, at least to a significant degree, the causes of alcoholism because they are mostly social and economic factors. There's no panacea out there, but there are many ways of combating alcoholism, none of which require prohibition or restriction to access to alcohol.

Also, social Darwinism is a garbage ideology that rests on a severe misunderstanding of sociobiology.

[QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="Nibroc420"] 1.) How can a police officer be worried about their own personal safety if Dorner has already the act of murdering them? 2.) I'm sure the officers would rather get awarded medals, rather than a date in court for assault. 3.)We've already seen how trigger happy the LAPD is, they want this guy dead, they dont care about due process.

1) Take a writing class, learn how to make a coherent sentence. I can't even agree or disagree with this point, because I have no idea what the hell you're even trying to say. 2) Of course. And chances are that they'd rather end up in court for assault than to get murdered or see their families murdered. 3) Those "mistaken identity" shootings are shameful, but it's obvious why the LAPD wants this guy dead so badly. He's killing LAPD officers AND members of their families.

1.) I'm able to read through your typos and terrible grammar, yet when i make a single error, it's apparently discussion ending  2.) They wont end up in court if they kill the witness who wants the case re-opened. 3.) They're not "mistaken identity shootings", They have ZERO intention of bringing this guy in alive, they want him dead. Dead Men dont talk.

1 million dollars? I wander what they are trying to hide.-Renegade

He is suspected a daughter of a former LAPD police officer and the daughter's fiance. The farther was specifically named as a target along with his family, As well as a Riverside officer. He also is suspected for shooting three police officers. And with his training he is a fairly large danger, and I am sure the LAPD are scaried for their families.

Going after a highly trained killer that may track you down and destroy you finding his location for only $1million? Which nowadays is worth nothing at all? They need a bigger bounty.

Umm...if Dorner actually had some dirt on the LAPD, and was able to prove it, wouldn't he have been better just revealing that information instead of going on a murder spree? Hell, even if he wanted to go on a murder spree anyway, what's stopping him from doing that AND revealing the dirt on the LAPD? At this point he clearly knows it's just a matter of time before he's killed. So if he actually has some secrets and the proof to back it up, what the hell is he waiting for?

Oh right He should just pick up 911. Tell them "My name's Chris Dorner, and there's a conspiracy going on with..." 1.) Those cops are looking to kill him 2.) He already brought the situation to the police chief, who fired him and ruined his reputation. Pretty much suicide.

Or he could send a letter to the media detailing his accusations. He could have actually put that information in his manifesto. But that's beside the point. You're suggesting that revealing the stuff that he knows won't amount to anything, which means that whatever dirt he may or may not have on the LAPD is not a threat to the LAPD. So why would the LAPD offer a million in order to keep that information from coming out? Seriously dude, just think about the stuff you're saying. If Dorner had dirt on the LAPD and could actually prove it, he would have already done so. And if he either lacks such information or lacks the means to prove it, then any possible dirty secrets he may know aren't a threat to the LAPD. Occam's Razor, dude. There's no need to come up with some Hollywood style story about intrigue and corruption, when actions can be explained far more simply. Why the $1 million bounty? Because the man is killing cops and family members of cops, end of story.

That makes no sense. The guy had already essentially committed suicide by declaring war on an entire state, just as he has already called out the police force about their alleged corruption in regards to him being fired.

MrGeezer is absolutely right - if Dorner had anything solid to go on, he would have posted it in his manifesto, or online elsewhere, or in those parcels that he has been delivering to the press, either before or after he began murdering people. He has absolutely nothing to lose, so there would be no reason to hold it back.

For that matter, if he had any kind of proof, he could've gone to the press and completely sidestepped the need to shoot anybody. He's only shooting because he has nothing solid, and it's the only play he has left.

In any case, his testimony is now mostly meaningless. Any decent prosecutor should be able to completely shut down a guy who has innocent blood on his hands - "He's a psychopath with a massive grudge against the guy who fired him, and will do anything to ruin the guy - including murdering the guy's children. He isn't the most reliable of witnesses".

Lets be honest though, no matter how much you reason with people/trolls/whatever, they'll still hold up Dorner as the good guy here. It has to be some major conspiracy, Dorner has to be some innocent light of justice trying to clear his name, his ridiculously long and crazy manifesto has to be missing some important bits the cops are going after him for, etc.

It's like the Birther movement all over again.

Planeforger

This is the reputation the Police chief created for him, after Dorner had witnessed and reported his senior partner (who was training him), for kicking a handicapped child in the face, who reportedly needed medical treatment. The case was never looked into, the officer never repremanded for his actions.

>Dorner witnesses crime
>Dorner who happens to be a cop, reports it to a higher-up.
>Dorner is told not to "Cross the blue line", fired, and the police chief ruins his reputation.

Yet Geezer is suggesting he just dial 911, because some operator on the other end is going to listen to his story (inlike the head of the LAPD).
They unloaded 20 bullets into a truck, because they thought it might be Dorner, even though was a different make and model than his truck.

The LAPD ruined him, he has evidence, but cant exactly call 911 for assistance, they want him dead.
Heck, they're using armed drones to hunt for him 24/7..

He helped create that reputation for himself after he murdered the daughter of that retired police chief, and her fiance. In any case, are you simply stupid, or are you just getting worse at trolling? No one said that he should file his complaint by calling the police. After all, he didn't need to dial 911 to release his manifesto, did he? He got thousands of people to read his manifesto without dialing 911. Yet, you're telling me that he wrote the manifesto and strangely chose out to leave out any proof to corroborate his claims. This all being despite the fact that he knows he could be killed at any time, which would mean that all of that proof of corruption disappears. That whole "calling 911" thing is something you pulled out of your ass. He didn't need to call 911 to get his manifesto seen, so please tell me what the f*** is stopping him from releasing this hard evidence that he supposedly has. Either he doesn't have the evidence, or he has the evidence and is deliberately choosing to NOT release it. If it's the latter, then he's deliberately withholding evidence of corruption in the LAPD, which shatters any notion of this being about justice.

I don't condone killing people, but he's protecting his ethos and philosophy, and his reasons are justified. Just ask the all the people that were brutality beaten, framed, sexually assaulted by police offcers in southern California.

And you really can't take LAPD's side when they shot and killed two elderly ladies without warning.....

You're referring to the civilians that the police officers got trigger-happy at because they thought the vehicle looked similar? They didn't actually die.

He haven't only gone after the police. In fact two of the three people he is suspected in killing were the daughter of a retired LAPD police officer and the daughter's fiance. The other person was a random Riverside (Not LAPD) officer.

Looks like they found him. He tied up a couple in a Big Bear cabin and stole their car. Cops chased him down Highway 38, he crashed and started running down a hill. He shot two cops and I guess they're searching or actually engaged in a fight with him right now. They aren't confirming that it's him but it's almost certainly him. They also found a rifle in the car he crashed. One of the tied up victims broke free and called 911 and reported their car was stolen by someone matching Dorners description.

Hopefully justice is served all round. Given the circumstances though, I doubt it.

He'll probably just be killed, and that'll be the end of it.

He got himself cornered into a cabin? I'm not impressed. I expected more from him. I guess he was bluffing about the scale of his war on the LAPD in his manifesto.

Are you disappointed how this turned out?

I expected more casualties, and a more grandiose display of firepower (he implied that he possessed an RPG launcher).

Are you a psychopath?
