[QUOTE="Nibroc420"][QUOTE="MrGeezer"] Umm...if Dorner actually had some dirt on the LAPD, and was able to prove it, wouldn't he have been better just revealing that information instead of going on a murder spree? Hell, even if he wanted to go on a murder spree anyway, what's stopping him from doing that AND revealing the dirt on the LAPD? At this point he clearly knows it's just a matter of time before he's killed. So if he actually has some secrets and the proof to back it up, what the hell is he waiting for?Planeforger
Oh right He should just pick up 911. Tell them "My name's Chris Dorner, and there's a conspiracy going on with..." 1.) Those cops are looking to kill him 2.) He already brought the situation to the police chief, who fired him and ruined his reputation. Pretty much suicide. That makes no sense. The guy had already essentially committed suicide by declaring war on an entire state, just as he has already called out the police force about their alleged corruption in regards to him being fired.
MrGeezer is absolutely right - if Dorner had anything solid to go on, he would have posted it in his manifesto, or online elsewhere, or in those parcels that he has been delivering to the press, either before or after he began murdering people. He has absolutely nothing to lose, so there would be no reason to hold it back.
For that matter, if he had any kind of proof, he could've gone to the press and completely sidestepped the need to shoot anybody. He's only shooting because he has nothing solid, and it's the only play he has left.
In any case, his testimony is now mostly meaningless. Any decent prosecutor should be able to completely shut down a guy who has innocent blood on his hands - "He's a psychopath with a massive grudge against the guy who fired him, and will do anything to ruin the guy - including murdering the guy's children. He isn't the most reliable of witnesses".
Lets be honest though, no matter how much you reason with people/trolls/whatever, they'll still hold up Dorner as the good guy here. It has to be some major conspiracy, Dorner has to be some innocent light of justice trying to clear his name, his ridiculously long and crazy manifesto has to be missing some important bits the cops are going after him for, etc.
It's like the Birther movement all over again.
