Why there is a magnetic field around Mercury ? It makes no sense at all! But yet, it's there. It's impossible to have a magnetic field there, there's nothing to generate it.

Of course it makes perfect sense. Nothing is impossible.elblanquito_81
Of course some things are impossible...

a completely equal rhombusi don't know the answer but maybe because it is so close to the sun? can you answer me this : what exactly is the black box on the Airplane?see above
A black box is a box made from Titanium containing flight records voice + data. It's called a black box but it's actually red.
Nothing is impossible, it just takes someone to say it and someone to believe it to make anything possible. If i say i can fly, and you believe I can fly, then i can fly. Penguin_dragonPics or i didn't happen

are you high on the secret or just high? if i believe i can,i don't know blow up a nuke in front of my face and not die in the process it will happen?Uh... my astronomy is rather rusty, but isn't the magnetic field caused by the planet's core?Funkyhamster
That's what I always thought, given that there is a North and South pole on EVERY planet, the planets core gives off a magnetic field relative to the poles.
Source your info OP, or it's false.

Usually a molten core means a magnetic field.

Molten core, it's like in the movie where they have to go inside the Earth molten core to restablish the core rotation and regenerate the Earth magnetic field.

that is a terrible example. numbers are an abstract symbol to represent something. but when someone dies in a nuclear blast, someone dies in a nuclear blast.
There is a difference between belief and reality.

you are basing your argument on if the majority believes it it must be fact which is false. If the whole world believed fire din't burn the skin and i believed it did does that change the effects of fire on the skin. Answer is no. If the whole world believed they could fly we would have alot of people committing suicide and very few looking at them like idiots. Your logic seems flawed.[QUOTE="Penguin_dragon"]Think of it this way, If everyone in the world thought 2+2=5 tomorrow, and you were the only one who believed that 2+2=4, you would be branded as insane. So if you get shot with a nuke, and i say that you lived and died of unrelated causes and most of the people on earth believed me, than it really happend.

saying someone did not die in a nuclear blast to everyone, when they actually did, is not reality, its just brainwashing[QUOTE="blooddemon666"][QUOTE="Penguin_dragon"]Think of it this way, If everyone in the world thought 2+2=5 tomorrow, and you were the only one who believed that 2+2=4, you would be branded as insane. So if you get shot with a nuke, and i say that you lived and died of unrelated causes and most of the people on earth believed me, than it really happend.

If i shoot you in the head and it enters and exits the brain you can believe you will live, for about 1 minute, be fore you undoubtly die. If i'm convinced that 2+4=876, that is belief but the former is reality and truth.[QUOTE="Etherninty"]There might be a a very weak magnetic field around Mars and Venus thought, but current sciences and technologies can't detect it.Dracargen
If Wikipedia can detect it then currect sciences and technologies probably can as well. . .
Oops my bad, so there is a very weak one there. What about Mars.

Belief is an abstract concept that we think to be true (ie, god, faires, what have you) while reality is something that can actually be observed.

Kids would rule the world then, they REALLY believe so many stuff... that's an interesting theory that can be proved wrong quite fast.
