Here are the reports will have to transalte to get in English, apperently it is youth camp for people in Prime Minster party and they are trying to hide or swim away from the island, this is 20 miles away from Oslo, the story get crazier as times goes, there are still reports the target was the Oil Ministry?

The Prime Minister is supposed to visit Utøya tomorrow. Badly planned attack maybe? I find it a little hard to belive it's a coincidence. :?

News is saying one person dressed as a policeman opened fire on kids at youth camp on an island. Several people hurt. They are not sure if the two incidents are connected.

I don't think it was a gas explosion.

Current Olso temp conditions are 59 Degrees with 14 MPH winds.

There is too much direct damage outside of the building - I think (just a complete guess BTW) if it was a exterior gas explosion, you would need winds to be calm in order for enough gas to build up for it to be that powerful of an explosion.

Also - the metal window frames on the lower levels are bent inward, so it looks like it was a street-level explosion.

I'm guessing it was either a suitcase bomb, a car bomb or possible a backpack bomb of some sort.

But again - I have no idea. Just looking at some of the pictures on CNN of the building damage.

I live a couple of kilometres outside of Oslo and I'm following this on a norwegian news site. And yes, there is a guy dressed as a cop shooting at people in a youth camp. People have already been confirmed killed by other people hiding from the attacker.

Just in, unconfirmed reports that police have taken down the person shooting.

I hope horgen is ok.

Could it have been a big gas leak? Those things can get massive and level buildings.

Thinking it was deliberate is jumping the gun. This isn't like London, Paris, or Berlin, three cities in which countries are actively engaged in the war on terror and in Libya. Norway hasn't been a major player in any of these things at all.
