Okay why is it that all family guy jokes boil down to this.

1.Inane pop culture refrences. How many times are they going to make fun of aquaman?

2.Musical Numbers that go on for too long.

3.Repetetion of Dialogue for the sake of being funny. Drawing out conversations wayyyyy to long.

4.Recurring jokes like the chicken fight.

The characters have no personality. We get it! Stewie is evil and a closet homosexual, Quagmire is a pervert, Meg is disliked, Peter is stupid and Lois is the voice of reason. No character devolpment whatsoever.

They draw out events in order to make them awkward but they overused it and now we are numb to it. How can you tell one episode apart from the other? You don't you just remember the notable gags. The animation sucks and is so lifeless. South Park has bad animation but that gives it charm while Family Guys art style is just sterile.

This one trick pony needs to be put down.

Same here, I really dislike watching it.
It's just too random and it is boring to watch.

I wonder if it will ever be cancelled.

I totally agree, unfortunatly the show lost its charm quite awhile ago, only part I really liked in tonights episode was the direct tv refrence, only because Ive seen that damn thing way too much.

It's weird, I find the first four seasons of randomness to be very funny. But now its just painful. For example, that episode with Jesus in it a few weeks back now (the last new episode I watched). That whole "bird" song thing went on way too long. I also noticed that about half of the new episodes involve Brian in some weird situation/relationship and Stewie following him around for some reason. The pop culture references seem to be becoming slowly more obscure, and the show provides little more than the occasional laugh at this point.

As far as it being cancelled, I doubt it. As far as I know, the show still gets good ratings, and that is pretty much all a show needs to survive it seems.

They should look baxk at the ideas they had before it was cancelled. You know, how the jokes had something to do with the plot. Now you could put any joke anywhere and couldn't tell the difference.

How is that elitism?

When a show has been reduced to predictable plot lines and overused stale jokes how is it elitist to call it out on its own flaws?

Family guy is lazy writing. A show should make you say "i really like those characters!" "I relate to their struggels!" "Wow thats some good satire!"

How many hanna barbara characters are they going to show in illogical scenarios? They aren't even putting them in ways that would make sense to the characters world its just "OH lets throw optimus prime in and make a joke about him being gay LOLZ!

Robot chicken does nothing but skit humor but the humor is always realvent to the characters and the stop frame animation has heart. Thats an example of good writing as well as a sense of stylishness.

Family Guy is to South Park as Mad Tv is to SNL

Animation can have a well devolped cast of characters that evolve and have soul. Animation can create a magical universe that causes fans to obsess over small details and form ideas about where the plot is going. Animation can create sharp satire and create a experiance that leaves you feeling good. How does family guy do any of that?

Family guy fans! Whats your favorite episode? Can you answer that? How bout whats your favorite cutaway gag?

I dont think anyones really arguing against you..youre absolutly right of course, while its easy to name a favorite futurama episode you really cant with family guy because every episode its just an arrangement of random jokes. Actually I'd find it pretty funny if someone had a favorite family guy episode.

What people are going to realize someday is that you can just produce show after show like family guy the same way Hanna Barbara did with their cartoons.

Why is it Family Guy keeps getting spinoffs while Futurama and Invader Zim get cancelled before they even reach maturity?

I've seen Futurama a few times.. and that show sucks ****. I didn't laugh once any time I saw that show. If it's the show I'm thinking about with the robot and the one eyed lady, then yeah, that show blows. That's why it would get cancelled..

Probably because the show's creators knew when not to go to far.

I like the show, and I don't get offended, but on the same token why do people even argue that it's not deep enough? Really, that's like getting mad at vanilla ice cream cuz it's too cold and tastes like vanilla. Family Guy is a stupid show by nature. It is what it is, like it or not.

TC you're a few years late. I knew Family guy ran out of ideas the moment i realized its jokes consisted of "Hey, that reminds me of the time we *insert completely random cutscene*" And that was at the first episode! That show should have been cancelled before it even hit the air.

That was the Family Guy formula since the beginning. At least before they were cancelled they made it funny. They plagiarized a bunch of stuff from the early Simpsons.

I loved the first seasons. They were great.
I do notice that most the new seasons aren't good at all, and I can't stand to watch them.

I am shocked it probably won't be cancelled. In a few months, the cleveland show will also be on fox, so Seth Macfarlane will have 3 shows on fox.
I am shocked that anyone would want to see more of his cartoons, I know I won't be watching the cleveland show.

Fox isn't that great of a channel anyways.

I wanted to post "in b4 manatees", but no one mentioned it yet. Basically, southpark did this amazing show on family guy involving manatees as writers, where you just thought "yeah, their writers could actually be manatees".

South Park summed it up really, with their "mannatees in a tank". That's basically Family Guy's writing.

I didn't like last night episode to much, two things I noticed they took from other things like the whole LOTR flying to Mordor and the pooping in the massage room. I thought the best part was the trains planes and automobiles reference.

Really? From what I see on here, everyone bashes Family Guy, ever since the South Park episode.

I haven't had a chance to see the new season yet (not out on DVD) but I've always liked it.

The Simpson's Tree House of Horror was hilarious, and I loved King of the Hill's spoof about MySpace

IT ran out of ideas after the first episode.

IT's terrible that our culture embraces these horrible forms of media, which only influence and corrupt the weaker minded. I see countless kids imitating what they here on these trashy shows, and it offers nothing positive to our society.
