It was because he wanted to watch it instead of some religious programming.

This happened a few days ago though, so the novelty of it being on Father's Day doesn't exist.

Ignorance is indeed man's first enemy. If an atheist did the same thing should we say "This is what atheism do to people", I mean please how stupid does this sentence sound?

At least the man was smart enough to realize that soccer was more important XD But damn, even in the world of today, religion is still really out of hand.

mostly because they are ****ed up in the head initially. Tho the story is kind of hilarious. They refused to give him the remote so he went to change the channel from the TV. The wife and the two "children" banged his head to the wall . Also, who the hell calls 23 and 35 years old guys "children".

You mean if there was a news article that said. "Man killed trying to change to soccer game instead of watching the daily atheist brainwashing channel" ?

And of course religious fanaticism doesn't help people who are obviously somewhat mentally ill in the first place.

I'm shocked that this would even happen. You have the World Cup in your home country. Usually it's the old people who will make you watch/attend religious things and not "children". You kill a man over a channel dispute. The way things played out is just bizarre.

South Africa abolished capital punishment in the early 90s. Until then, hanging (of the quick, neck-breaking type) was the method that the state used to perform executions.

But strong ideology has a much more profound effect on people than those other mediums do.

Well does it make you want to go to Africa? No. It always seems like that it's in Africa where this over-the-top stuff. Sporting event deaths, religious fanaticism, the list goes on.
