Decade as in 2000-2010, or 1999-2009? I'll do 2000-2010, although that still leaves a year and more albums.

1. Agalloch - Ashes Against the Grain/The Mantle
2. Anaal Nathrakh - Hell is Empty, and All the Devils Are Here
3. Nightrage - Sweet Vengeance/Descent Into Chaos
4. Opeth - Blackwater Park
5. Septic Flesh - Communion
6. Anata - The Conductor's Departure/Dreams of Death and Dismay/Under a Stone with No Inscription
7. Behemoth - Demigod/Evangelion
8. Rotting Christ - Theogonia/Sanctus Diavolos
9. Fleshgod Apocalypse - Oracles
10. Bloodbath's entire discography.
11. Porcupine Tree's In Absentia

Probably some I'm forgetting...

Antithesis by Origin

All of Hellveto's full length albumsDarth-Caedus

Great album (Antithesis) as well.

I have (sadly) yet to hear the majority of Hellveto's stuff, but from what I have it's really good so I definitely need to pick some of that up.

No love for Fear of a Blank Planet?

Felt too metal. Too straight forward and had terrible lyrics imo.

I thought it was fantastic in all aspects, especially lyrics. But hey thats just what I think:P

I forgot to mention the album Let Me Introduce My Friends by I'm from Barcelona. Sure its not a musical masterpiece but it is the most happy and catchy album I have heard this decade so far.

Film-Guy

I respectfully disagree since I've never seen a more happy and snappy album than Mika's "Life in Cartoon Motion"

Please dont say the word Mika or I will get that song Lollipop stuck in my head forever. Oh god its happening:cry: You are right though, that album does rival the one I mentioned. I love Mika:D

Me too. He must be a blast live, I hope he comes around next year, I've been dying to see him

I don't know. You said yourself the metal thing is getting stale and this album felt really straight forward, metal aside. I liked the concept that Steven tried to create, but I wasn't that impressed with it overall. In Absentia was amazing in that you would never guess the lyrics were so dark, fantastic closer, mid-album instrumental, great dynamics. I never liked it that much because I felt it was too long, but once I listened to it with the lyrics it all blew my mind.

Love Today is a big fav. But my favorite overall is probably Grace Kelly

I can't wait until his new album, hope it'll be just as good :)

Yeah I agree In Absentia is amazing, but I have a soft spot for Lightbulb Sun personally since it was the first CD of theirs I got. Their metal sound is getting a tad tiresome, so I see what you are saying. I still iike Fear of a blank planet, I just hope their new one The Incident mixes things up a bit. A 55 minute long song with no diversity and styl changing will become boring. I dont know what they are doing with the 55 mintute song but I look forward to seeing it.

Lightbulb Sun is great :D

I'm looking forward to The Incident, as well. I'd imagine they know if they're going to write a 55 minute song, it can't be stagnant. However what was wrong with Fear of... wasn't that it was too metal, it's just that it didn't do anything exciting. I love metal, but Fear of... sounded really boring imo
