Can't kick anybody's butts or stand up for themselves! :P Oh and I noticed about that union it's called "Women who game and people who love them too" Does that mean women that game and people who love women or women that game and people who love games? Lol either way it can be applied to everyone so that union isn't exclusive for girls :)

It's done in Photoshop I think. You can do it by layer masking round the person and putting a background behind them. Then loosely layer mask round the person on the background layer to show the checkered bits (those checkered bits mean it's transparent. It should actually show up as transparent so maybe she'd created that pattern herself and put it in a new layer). Then you get the layer with the person and layer mask round the bits that you don't won't to show (i.e the skin). If you use the gradient tool then it would flat out colour the screen in so she'd have done a new layer with the gradient in and used a clipping mask to make that gradient take the shape of the person.
