It's a really outdated, extremely formal way of saying "is". You know how the sentences we wrote before had "desu" at the end? That's a conjunction of de and arimasu. Armasu is the conjugated form of the verb "aru", meaning "it exists" for inanimate objects. "Kore wa pen ga arimasu" means "there is a pen". Using at the ends of all sentences like "watashi wa Kanadajin (Canadian) de arimasu" is just ridiculous sounding. And I think there's one anime out there that uses it like this "watashi wa Kanadajin desu de arimasu", which is just redundant. I don't think anyone speaks like that irl in Japan, even when they're being polite.

I'm not a girl ( I know most of you will stop reading after that. :P ) But, I've always been interested in the female perspective on games. My cousin had very specific tastes in videogames growning up, so that she would only play one stage from donkey kong country, over and over. o.o;;
