Hmm, considering how balanced your ultimatum is I have to go with one, just to show respect to how great I think you are, I have to go with b, even if it makes no sense.
Who in the world are they hurting anyways? :| Themselves, obviously.[QUOTE="wado-karate"]
I think neither. Let them do as they please, its not me they're hurting.

Do you rightfully believe that pot smokers should be thrown in jail and left there to die? Or do you think it should be legalized like the rest of the stoners???ninfixed
a little harsh...
I don't smoke but I believe it should be legalized...and don't believe they should be put away and left to die...

I think it should be legalized but heavily taxed, as should sugar-heavy food and drink, alcohol, and nicotine.CONMAN999PSAlcohol and nicotine ARE heavily taxed.:|
[QUOTE="wado-karate"][QUOTE="_en1gma_"] Who in the world are they hurting anyways? :|Themselves, obviously. What is it doing to them that is noticeably hurtful? Well, I only have my brother for an example. Ever since he started smoking pot things went bad for him._en1gma_

Legalized. It doesn't harm anyone but themselves, and even then I can see reasons to use it. I'd rather not have individual liberties taken away from people without any reason whatsoever.
Plus, who would want to pay more tax dollars to keep them in jail? They didn't do anything remotely worthy of even being there in the first place.
EDIT: And with cigarettes being legal, who would want the less-detrimental marijuana to be illegal other than the tobacco companies?
Whether one agrees with a specific law or not when one breaks the law that is the usual outcome so they've done something worthy of jailtime.Legalized. I'm not a fan of marijuana but I dont have a problem with other people using it. As long as they don't drive under the influence or use it under other situations, more power to them.

I am sure by "worthy", he means "justified". So no.Breaking the law...any law....means jail is justified if that is the penalty for said crime. You misunderstand. The law itself that causes a person to go to jail for smoking marijuana is not justified.[QUOTE="_en1gma_"]

Obviously if you're breaking the law you should be punished. Thing is, the law that bans marijuana shouldn't exist in the first place...Neon-TigerBut it does, so have fun in jail.

Same with my brother jackass he started useing other drugs to. pot is a gateway drug
Is it? I believe your "brother jackass" is weak minded. Marijuana doesn't tell you to do harder drugs. What I meant is that laws should be exclusively for restricting the ability of a person to harm another (in a sense taking away/violating their individual rights). There should be no restrictions on what one does to themselves, as it is their choice and does not affect anyone else. Whether or not it is a current law, preventing the use of a substance that does no harm to anyone but the user, does not make it a valid excuse to alienate and restrict one's rights to that degree. Essentially what I'm saying is it should not be a law, and that's why I don't believe they're worthy of being there.Saturos3091The case could easily be made that such actions may have a negative net impact on society as a whole, and as an extension of the purpose of society, such actions can and ought to be subject to regulation and prohibition.

The gateway drug argument is terrible. Brainkiller05That's a tricky subject. For some it is...some it isn't. I don't think it can clearly be stated one way or the other with accuracy.
