Do you rightfully believe that pot smokers should be thrown in jail and left there to die? Or do you think it should be legalized like the rest of the stoners???

Hmm, considering how balanced your ultimatum is I have to go with one, just to show respect to how great I think you are, I have to go with b, even if it makes no sense.

Ignored thread title for sake of argument. I believe it should be legalized for home consumption at least.

Legalized. It doesn't harm anyone but themselves, and even then I can see reasons to use it. I'd rather not have individual liberties taken away from people without any reason whatsoever.

Plus, who would want to pay more tax dollars to keep them in jail? They didn't do anything remotely worthy of even being there in the first place.

EDIT: And with cigarettes being legal, who would want the less-detrimental marijuana to be illegal other than the tobacco companies?

Whether one agrees with a specific law or not when one breaks the law that is the usual outcome so they've done something worthy of jailtime.

I'm not a fan of marijuana but I dont have a problem with other people using it. As long as they don't drive under the influence or use it under other situations, more power to them.

Breaking the law...any law....means jail is justified if that is the penalty for said crime.

Every stoner I've met has always seemed to be a slacker. As I see it, pot either gave them that attitude or that attitude got them into pot. Either way, they end up wasting money on a short-lived useless buzz. Oh, and the smell of weed gives me headaches.

That's not what I meant.

What I meant is that laws should be exclusively for restricting the ability of a person to harm another (in a sense taking away/violating their individual rights). There should be no restrictions on what one does to themselves, as it is their choice and does not affect anyone else. Whether or not it is a current law, preventing the use of a substance that does no harm to anyone but the user, does not make it a valid excuse to alienate and restrict one's rights to that degree.

Essentially what I'm saying is it should not be a law, and that's why I don't believe they're worthy of being there.

What do you have against pot smokers?
Pot is one of the least dangerous drugs in my opinion.
I dont smoke it myself but I do think it should be legalized to people over 18 or 21 just like cigarette's and Alchohol, the government would make bank and take money out ofsome gangs hands.

The case could easily be made that such actions may have a negative net impact on society as a whole, and as an extension of the purpose of society, such actions can and ought to be subject to regulation and prohibition.

That's a tricky subject. For some it is...some it isn't. I don't think it can clearly be stated one way or the other with accuracy.

"Rightfully" believe? Everyone has a right to their own opinion, regardless of what it is.
