Fox cancels King of the Hill

For all of those who say the show was boring or that it sucked: It was a thinking man's animated comedy, you just didn't get it.

That's too bad. It wasn't hilarious, but it had some good episodes. Plus, all they do is drink beer, and talk about vehicles and power tools. You aren't a man if you don't do those things. :Pmetallica_fan42

Indeed. I don't really know of anyone who clinged to each episode and tivo'd it or anything like that. It was just something to watch when there was nothing better on. I'd say if I had to rate the series, I'd give it about a 6.5/10. Definitely not the worst show out there, and it was watchable, but there are many more out there that are much better.

Unlike both The Simpsons and Family Guy, King of the Hill has stayed strong since the beginning and has kept animated comedy alive on that channel. This is unfortunate news indeed, especially when they decide to keep FG and Simpsons going despite them being utterly terrible compared to their earlier forms.foxhound_fox

That's just the thing... when your audience becomes more tasteless, it thus becomes broader, so you'd have to be a fool to keep the show with the smaller audience going.

The characters -- Peggy and Bobby in particular -- in that show drove me up the walls. I could never stand them for more than 30 seconds.Dark__Link

Hank and his buddies were pretty good characters though. His buddy Bill just depressed me.

I didn't love King of the Hill, but it was watchable and had its moments. The ratings are not terrible considering how brutal the timeslot is, and this seems to be more of a making room for something else rather then a cancelation, which like Dark Angel was canceled even though it had ok ratings to make room for Firefly.

I would imagine the Cleveland Show will be slid right into that timeslot and survive a season.

I feel like they've really been trying to use him more in the series. It's like one last desperate attempt to prove to people he's not a boring character, but I beg to differ. The Cleveland show will more than likely bomb.

How much you wanna bet that Fox decided to cancel King of the Hill to make room for The Cleveland Show? It's one thing to cancel a show, but to do it in favor for a spin-off show whose main character wasn't interesting to begin with does kinda blow.

I agree, jeez this sucks so much ;(. Yet to have a show get cancelled on me that I really liked, watch it almost every day on FX :(.
