Is anyone genuinely excited for the up-coming film-reboot of the wall-crawler, The Amazing Spiderman? Initially, I wasn't impressed by it (based on the early trailers of it). However, the most recent trailer which can be seen during the previews for The Avengers has changed my mind about it. This rendition of Spidey seems more closely linked to the comics. For example, as in the comics, it seems that this Spidey will make jokes while fighting crime; in the most recent trailer, when a couple of thugs whip out knives, Spidey says (sarcastistically) "Oh, little knives. My greatest weakness." Tobey McGuire's Spidey didn't do things like this. Also, the CGI seems more refined in this trailer and the action a bit better. Anyhow, I'm still not as excited for it as I was and still am for The Avengers, and as I am for The Dark Knight Rises, but I'm definitely looking forward to it now. How about you guys and gals?

The actors are good, but I'm too burnt out on Spiderman movies to care about this.

Yea, the fact that it's the fourth Spiderman film in the last ten years makes it somewhat uninteresting when compared to other superhero films. I wonder how well it's going to do at the box office.

I found some enjoyment out of the other films, so I'll probably see this when it's out at some point. I'm hardly jumping out of my seat about it though.

I was not excited at first but then after seeing some more trailers and hearing more about it I got excited. I'm curious how different it will be from the previous movies. I hope it's more serious and less campy than the last 3.

I'm glad that they're basing it much closer to the comics, like that his love interest in Gwen Stacey and he's a freshman in high school. It'll be a fun film to watch as I was hoping that the Lizard would be in Spider-Man 2 and 3, but he wasn't. They never even had the courtesy to explain why Connors was missing his arm (It took me a while to even notice it was missing).

If he is more like his actual character than how he was in the previous series, I'm interested. I always liked the 90s animated series' version's wit and hibitual satire.

I think the only 2 super hero characters that can stand on their own are batman and iron man. These two characters have in my opinion being developed perfectly, both incredibly contrasting and in parts very deep. I think Iron man can only get better in terms of character development and batman is basically perfect, although I hate his voice. The new spiderman while a few years back would have seemed pretty cool, just kinda seems a bit to forced and the previously mentioned "oh small knives" thing, just seemed like a really cheap line and wasnt funny at all, specially when you have witnessed the avengers and seen what was a perfect performance of the hulk in terms of comedy.

This version of spiderman just seems a few years too late. However I guess if it does well then maybe we will see him in the next avengers?

That's because it is close to the comics . You have Gwen Stacy as his lover not Mary Jane that's way down the line . He uses web shooters , he's not a nerd just a outcast this is a better depiction than the Emo Peter from Ramis film. Personally I'm stoked for this film .

Unless they do something new and specifically interesting with it, I don't see why they're doing the origin story again. Seems unnecessary. Just do like the animated series from the 90s and start with him having the powers already.

Why do you say that?

The trailers look really bad. It feels like they are trying to go for a Nolan-Batman type of movie. Spiderman was never a really serious type of super hero like a Batman. To me he was always just a fun, forget about realism, type of comic character. Plus, it feels like they are going to focus on that Dennis Leary storyline, which is LAME.

Ya see, this is what bothers me. These movies shouldn't be trying to copy Batman. I want to see a live action comic book, not some realistic adaption. It works with Batman because he doesnt have super powers, but it feels like so many of these movies are trying to copy the formula. That's why I liked the orihginal spiderman's so much. They brought a comic book to life on the big screen. They were fun, yet they still had a great story and great characters. "WHOA! He stole that guys pizza!!!"

Looks potentially quite good. Andrew Garfield is a much better actor than Tobey Maguire and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy is a great choice.

Not much about the trailer screamed realistic reboot to me. Also trailers tend to paint a different portrait of the movie that isn't always accurate.

Refuse to see a movie that just had it's SECOND reboot.

Unless they mail me a movie ticket for wasting my time with the other three movies.

It's a movie based upon a comic book. As such, I am by that very point required to be excited about it. Heck, I own Ghost Rider so of course I would put forth the effort to see this one. If I like the worst of the comic book movies then I will automatically like one based upon Spiderman.

I really enjoyed the first three original films and don't really see why they are making a reboot why didn't they just make a fourth one ? So yeah I'm not excited at all really since I think the whole reboot thing is kind of dumb since the original films were not made that long ago.
