Then you send the kid out of class to the principal's office. You don't call the effing cops over it. Just write the kid up and give her a Saturday school or ISS. Cops should only be used in dire situations. Like a fight, threat, or drugs. Not texting.

I know some have no guards and do rely on the local police.

also this line " Instead, the girl argued back and continued to text during her class." make me think that this girl wasn't leaving the class either. at that point she's just a distraction and should be physically removed from the class. the only ppl that can do that is the police.
