Girl Gamers...

HEY! I was very protective of women in a game once. Then again, it was SAMP...and I was roleplaying a pimp for a few weeks. I walked around with a cain and beat the hookers when they wouldn't give me my monehhh.

I haven't ran into the whole 'let me protect you and be your hero' thing because I'd probably team kill to get them off my *ss.. but I agree having the mic off helps to a degree but what happens when you're just conversing with friends in apre-game lobby or whileyou're doing call outs in a game to help your team. I don't by any means ask for the attention which seems to be the consensus here by several of the members. I'm not talking about the 'teenage attention starved boy crazy girl playing games' which completely deserves all the heckling she can get... I'm referring to the older mind-my-own-darn-business-unless-its-game-related girl... now.. how are we asking to be heckled when we're trying to help save your butt from dieing by that guy around the corner? You guys have a heck of a perception against girl gamers which I'm notsaying isn't warranted, however, don't generalize or group all into one category.

I remember in the picture thread there was a girl complaining that she got stalked by men all the time from the internet, and then subsequently posted 20 pictures of her at the strip club she worked at and bragged about how awesome she was. It's like...hmmm...I would NEVER say that a girl deserved to be stalked/raped or otherwise...but she was definitely putting herself into a good position to be.

I never understood this as well, the only thing I do find slightly annoying are girl gamers who talk about their boyfriend problems while playing a game online.

What part of the end of that sentence sounds appealing? None of it, I hate the teenage boys on there who think they're 'pimp' on a video game. No thanks! Really it depends on the individual 'gamer'. Some girls, like my sister, are fine. Other girls who can't be quiet about how they're a gurl that plays gaems!, really annoy me. If you draw attention to yourself like that, don't complain afterwards about the heckling.

1. chose a name that we liked even if it doesn't have gurl, beauty, princess, queen, grl we're still asking for it (fine, your opinion I guess.)

or 2. I'm only playing video games to get the attention of the boys/men on there because I mean there's no way on God's green earth that I could actually enjoy such a thing because that's a boy thing and heaven forbid I invade that.

To those of you who think girls only play video games to get your attention then I must avidly watch Football, UFC, and fish to get the attention of all you guys too?? Considering I fish on private land, I know more about football than my boyfriend and keep up to date with my teams more than most, and well I watch UFC because it's brutal and actual fighting. 'Our' lives don't revolve getting the attention of men. 8) To the guy who said all he heard was blah blah blah ~ did chuckle a lil when I read it...reminded me of my boyfriend lol.
