Dont you think theres more value in willingly avoiding alcohol when its available to you then instead banning alcohol completely so its impossible to buy? whats the value of religious laws if its only done by force.BossPerson

yup. basically forced religious observance is not a sign of devout piousness. it's theater.

actually take that back. it's forced audience particpation theater with legal and physical reprecussions for not participating.

at least in theaters, the actors are there voluntary.

My bro's friends once brought some junk in our home to store, one of those boxes was filled with alcohol... and I mean really expensive alcohol from all over the world: scotch, whiskey, vodka, w/e etc etc...

I used to hold the bottles and say: meh.. maybe I should open one. Was kinda tempted when I was really a downer, but thankfully I never did.

My parents knew about it, and they knew my bro was not a drinker.. just his lowsy non muslim friends. It was for safekeeping... but my dad usually nagged and pressured my bro until he got rid of em.

My undergrad college always celebrated Eid. Great time with food and meeting new people.

I tried alchole once, just one sip and it wasn't cold ... I dun know if it was high qaulity or not but as my sip was going down through my esophegus, I felt it was like "burning" ... anyway I wouldn't recommend it on Eid, may be after it.

I'd avoid any foods with trace alcohol in them, simply because they can act as a stimuli.
