Yep. Read all of them. Including "Quidditch Through the Ages" and "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."
PannicAtack
Me too! I'm guessing you've read Beedle the Bard as well. I'm obsessed with Harry Potter, and happily at that. :)
Sadly, no. I should, though. It's cute, much like the other 2. And luckily it too is a quick read.
I just hope they stick to the important points and don't ruin the movies.I like Harry Potter. I read the Deathly Hallows back when it released in '07 and I'm currently re-reading it right now.

:O like what? i tried finding plot holes but i couldn't, there were some 'logical' mistakes which isn't that big of a deal.Just little things...like the invisibility cloak where it's so good that no one can ever see through it according to Deathly Hallows and yet back in Goblet of Fire Mad Dog could see Harry in it when he was hiding from Snape. Much of what bothered me I'd have to think about again and my brain is tired. But I do recall that one bothering me. Plus, in DH after he knew using Voldemort's name was a trace...he used it anyway to further the plot of course but that is lazy writing.

Recently finished the books....entertaining but she made some mistakes along the way.
LJS9502_basic
To further the Mad Eye plothole, in DH Harry is able to get past it with the invisibility cloak on while sneaking into Umbridge's office yet, like you mentioned, it can detect him in the Goblet of Fire.

Well, he removes the eye then...I've watched all of the movies, but have yet to read a book. After watching the last one, I'm seriously considering reading the books. I think movies 3-6 have been pretty good fantasy movies...so, I'm sure reading the books would bring me more pleasure and fill in some gaps.

Nobody was looking through the eye at that point, how does that influence the plot hole?

Speaking of Snape...
1. I would love to know more about
Snape and Lily. I think that whole relationship and situation sounded amazing.
2. I like Snape even more since I can picture him as Alan Rickman, and it has made me have a serious Snape crush. (Thought I'd share.)
I've read them all. My main problem with Deathly Hollows is that the boarder-line ridiculous ending was just massive fan service. The previous two books are far better.

Do you mean the last 100-ish pages or the epilogue? I mean, both were absolutely atrocious, I just wanted to clarify (actually, all of book 7 was fairly horrible, but the last 100 pages + epilogue were... wow... I don't even know how to describe it :?).

Oh, I honestly didn't really like any of it. I was just pointing out the worst part of a mediocre book. :P
I really don't get how she messed it up. The fifth and sixth were the best in the series. I would've expected an even better seventh.

I thought the 6th was the worst not because of the ending because the story was nthn than an introduction to the 7th although the 6th movie is the best of all .
Harry Potter is the series I look back on and wonder why I even bothered continuing after 5, which I didn't like at all... 1 was good, 2 was bad, 3 was the best easily, 4 was mediocre... I guess I hoped 6 would be good, and hoped Rowling could write a decent story with them outside of Hogwarts... but, honestly, I shouldn't have kept reading them...
Oh well, been reading much better stuff lately. I'm going to start (and probably get about halfway through lol) Ray Bradbury's Farenheit 451 tonight :D. I also have Dante's Paradiso, the first volume of Sandman (Neil Gaiman), and Ray Bradbury's The Martian Chronicles coming on Thursday... can't wait :D
such an overrated book series and especially the movies. the latest one was soo boring and stupid teen drama, being 19 even i felt it was soo childish. i cannot imagine how anyone above 15 likes these books / mvoies. compare reading lord of the rings to harry potter and the quality of the literature is night and day.nimatoad2000
The visual style, alone, makes the movie worth seeing. And why would you compare it to the Lord of the Rings? They're two massively different things aimed for massively different audiences. :?

That is so true. Not only that, but the plot and characters of Lord of the Rings are just amazingly superior to those of Harry Potter. And, of course, the quality of writing of Lord of the Rings makes Harry Potter look like it was written by a 5-year-old whose native language wasn't English...
I love the movies. I read the first page of the first book (Like 5+ years ago, because I was bored). That's it...

I liked them. The fifth was really slow in the beginning but picked up just fine. After that, I agree with your assement of the series.
I'm currently on Dante's Inferno (that's some amazing stuff he wrote) and I read The Martian Chronicles a little while back. I didn't like it. Sure, it has tones of themes that can be applied to today but that doesn't make up for it being boring.

Dante's Inferno is fantastic, I'd give it at least a 9.5/10. Purgatorio is great as well, but not as good as Inferno. I'd recommend it if you really enjoy Inferno.

not really, lord of the ring is pretty much one of the first, if not the best / grandfather of the fantasy genre of books. you say they are soo different? ok lets see here.. do both books include magic.. yes .. both books have wizards.. a lot of the same stuff from LOTR is in HP. ive read many interviews with fantasy writers that have said that its almost impossible to not copy something from lord of the rings since it and the hobbit, along with tolkeins 10 or so other books just explaining lore / history are soo influential. tolkein is the grandfather of fantasy as H.P. Both books have wizards and magic? Well God damn, they're practically the same exact book, aren't they? Of course they'll have similarities. That doesn't change the fact that they were written for entirely different audiences.

I had to read it for school one summer, along with All Quiet on the Western Front andAnd Then There Were None. I enjoyed both far more than I did Martian Chronicles. Though, that may have had something to do with both having consistent characters and me actually being able to care about them.
And I have the Divine Comedy, so I already have Purgatorio and Paradisio.
