I wasn't a minority nor trailer trash, so the military was never in my future. cybrcatter
Since when do you have to be a minority or trailer trash to join the military?
Yes.. seems like the easy way... You get free access to equipment to exercise, free education, free training, a job, food, money for a house, and respect... All you have to do is jump when they say jump... It's kinda like being a high class hooker...jeremiah06
Somebody sounds bitter. What, you get denied from joining the Army?

That was my apartment when I was an airman. I don't have a flag in me and my wife's bedroom. >.> She'd murder me if I tried that.

Congratulations.

Still haven't answered my question.

No, no I did not.I am in a big slump financially and emotionally atm. I cannot find a woman to love on me or a job I love to do. I hear military people have a sense of accomplishment and pride after serving their contry so I thought maybe I should join to boost my ego. I am scared though of dying or getting PTSD. Have you ever seriously thought about joining the military or other armed forces? I think I'll have better time with women if I go and build my confidence up. I am tired of being a slumbag.slowpokebro
being depressed is never a reason to join the military. ignoring that, however, im proud of what ive done in the army. and as far as dying or ptsd goes, not every mos has you seeing combat. i dont care what anyway says, they wont send a lot of the mos's to the front lines. my dad was a electronic tech in the air force for 22 years(joined right as we were pulling out of vietnam and stayed thru the first gulf war) and the closest thing he got to combat was having to qualify on the range. dont listen to people who say that if u join the military youre signing up to die or kill people, they are ignorant.
again, joining the military for women or because youre depressed isnt a good idea. ive served a few years as an mp in the army, and i think its great that im gettin experience doing something i would otherwise need a 4 year degree to do. not to mention im taking online courses on the army's dime. that being said, im up everyday before 5, i know thats not for everyone. but, a job is a job, and youll be hard pressed to find one for someone without a college degree that will give you full benefits, a guaranteed retirement plan(if you stay in long enough) and will help pay for you college both while you are in the service and out.
will never join the army on my free will as long as we still support isreal and potentially starting a war with iran for the sake of isreal. not to mention we will be doing all the heavy work suffering the most losses while Our "allies " do jack **** if lets say Russia or some other nation attacks us then yes ill join in a heartbeat.
All teh tiem! I m3an, its just like Call of Duty, but with better graphics!
But like, its all n0 spawn moedz, so what happens if i get lag out irl? I'm ded!
I've never considered joining the military. A bunch of a-holes yelling in my face and worse yet, they might send me someplace where people are shooting at me. Not my thing at all.
But if you feel your life is going nowhere, what the heck. A lot of people seem to enjoy it.
Yes, but not for financial gain. I keep thinking of the mandatory contracts and guaranteeing your services for a set number of years. If you want out early then you're SOL. It turns me away. It's also years of experience lost in a profession you want to get into once you leave the military, unless of course your military career coincides with your future civilian one. Despite all that, I have respect for those that join the armed services because they want to, not because they need to.
No, no I did not.
Apparently the opportunity cost of joining the military is missing an important compare and contrast session involving 'predisposition' and 'prerequisite'.
...that for some reason was not covered in your middle-school studies.
What were you saying about your trailer trash roots?cybrcatter
Yes, yes you did.
And since when do middle-schoolers learn anything about economic theory?
Please, you're the one that posted the GIF of a sitcom. It's not me who's white trash.

No and I'd never join the military/army/marines. I certainly wouldn't want someone like Major Payne screaming in my face.
The military is a great 1. Paid training 2. Pay on the 1st and 15th like clock work 3. Medical full 4. Dental full 5. Free gym 6. Job bonus 7. Advancement from pvt to sgt 8. Housing covered 9. Clothing allowence 10. Women like me before I went in and loved me in my uniform 11. Military discount at a wide range of stores and airlines 12. Free life insurance 13. GI bill for school 14. Free online school 15. You will learn to be on time and to follow orders this most kids have problems with Just a few perks off the top of my head and nobody parties like the military or has your back.
That said if your lazy or got issues with following directions then for get about it. The military is the easiest job I ever had. You know what you have to do and when to do it.

Are you going to cry just cause you got yelled at then you can't handle stress and the military does not need your candy ass.

A few things:
Joining the military isn't going to guarantee you'll land a chick.
If you're emotionally unstable, that would probably cause the recruiter to think twice about letting you in especially if you'll be carrying a gun. You better see a shrink first.
You will be working with a diverse group of people from everywhere including people you may not like. You'll learn how to get along with them.
You'll be moving away from where you are now. That means you will have the opportunity for a fresh start in your life.
Be prepared for long hours and tedious work.
If you get in, use the opportunity to further your education instead of partying while off-duty.
If you're not satisfied with how you look now, you will get the opportunity to improve your physique. The military is big on exercise and physical activity. If you're a fatboy or a beanpole right now, you'll get plenty of opportunities to either slim down or bulk up. At the very least, you'll be in good shape. Also, your chances of landing a chick will improve. I have noticed that the majority of hotties in the bases I've been to were attracted to the physically fit.
Most people don't even qualify for the military.I considered it for a while but I doubt I would ever do it in my life.

All TIs are like him. You'll love shakedowns. That's when you just arrived in boot camp and the TIs are checking all your belongings for contraband. I remember my shakedown. Someone had a set of playing cards with nude women at the back. Imagine 4 or 5 Major Paynes getting on his face.
Yes but then I realized I would never want to risk my life to fight for unnecessary reasons. If I was in a financial situation where I desperately needed a job I would consider the Air Force probably because the chances of injury/death would be lowermingmao3046The odds of you dying in combat are much lower than driving in a car.
Yeah, but then I remember that I hate the country I live in and that I would never want to represent it.Nengo_Flow
