... the greatest chemistry experiment currently known to us? Like many other planets, Earth is just a huge clump of various chemicals that make up it's mass, the major difference of course being life. Life in itself is some amazing chemistry, but when you factor that into all the other elements of the Earth and how the two forces (biotic and abiotic) interact, it really is like the greatest and most complicated chemistry equation we know of. If someone (somehow) was able to write out ALL of the Earth into a chemical equation... I can't even imagine how big and complicated it would be. In a way I feel incredibly priveleged to see the end result of chemicals just sort of randomly colliding and combining over 4.5 billion years (and many parts of it even earlier than that).
