Been using Gmail for the last 3-4 years. Much better spam filtering IMO, with hotmail I'd get spam in my inbox all the time. I also like gmail labels, too bad only a few (if any) email clients support labels properly.
I have an account with each and I like Gmail better in most ways except for the invasion of privacy and the ads "aimed at me" because of my emails :| I mean, spam
I use Gmail. It's much better. The spam filtering is excellent and I love being able to have my profile linked across Google search, Youtube, Gmail, Google+, etc..
Actually, I'm surprised people still use Hotmail. That was so last decade.
I've never used Hotmail, but I love Gmail. I like how I can keep it open in a separate tab and then when I get a new email, a little (1) will appear on the title of the tab right after "inbox", so I don't have to periodically check to see if I have a new email.
gamil err I mean gmail. I have had hotmail for over 12 years now but use it as my junk email address. Yahoo as my fantasy and financial address and gamil for Work and personal.
I like hotmail because I'm used to it. If you have a smart phone and will be using it for email, Gmail is what you want because it's the only one with true push. The others are poll, which eats battery life.
My opinion too... And the spamfilter actually works compared to the one hotmail had. There is actually a filter i use in hotmail that works very well. I just send any email that isn't from someone on my contact list straight to the delete folder. Keeps my inbox clean.
I guess most people here log in to the respective web based client and check there mail, so I suppose it matters how they function; I've been using both with my phone for years now, so I never login to the web interface, so in that respect they're equal to me. Kinda shocked at how many people use the web interface to be honest. From a spam perspective I find them both adequate.
