we should agree that basketball > soccer and football

my opinion on major team sports

basketball>soccer>>>>american football>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>baseball>hockey

-basketball is the most exciting and you get to know the stars, really easy to get into a team.

-Soccer is the most sophisticated of all major sports, your basically watching a 90 minute chess match with only a break in between.Yes goals are not scored every minute, but that makes the emotion of the goals that much greater. A goal in the 90th minute to win a game can not be topped in team sports.

-Amerian Football aka hand egg is probably the best sport to watch with other people, constant pauses allow for instant reflection on the last play. basically the best sport for people with low attention span.

-baseball is garbage and requires no athleticism. tradition is all that keeps this archaic game relevant.

-hockey is really boring and too chaotic. the fact that they allowed to fight, while in other sports (NBA) a fight labels the athletes thugs, is a complete joke.

If you didnt grow up with a particular sport, you will find it boring. There's a lot of subtle things you pick up and knowing the rules and strategies help as well. I like NFL football because I grew up with it. I know a little about the game and the offensive and defensive stategies that teams use. It's fun to see how good quarterbacks pick apart a defense, etc. I'm sure someone who grew up with soccer feels the same way when watching their side.

Have you ever watched chess? "Will he use the Sicilian defense... will he use a Romanov gambit (yes, I just made that up... OR DID I? :o )?" ...I don't f***ing care, JUST MOVE A F****ING PIECE SOMETIME THIS CENTURY!!! What makes you think putting chess on a pitch is any more palatable?

Hockey is "too chaotic?" Funny... it uses many of the same tactics as soccer, it just does it much faster. Also, you may have missed the de-emphasis on fighting since the end of the '05 lock-out (when the rules were reworked to allow faster play, and stiffer penaties for instigating and fighting). so your "complete joke" is less of a concern than you want it to be.

because it IS boring. especially when a game ends in a 0-0 tie. there's no tieing in sports!

NFL is very predictable and i know is very strategic but it always leads to the same thing and leaves little room for excitement. Soccer a goal can come from anywhere any time is not predictable nomatter how good the team is. and even if the game is score less some games are very exciting because a goal can come from any player any time. but i admit some soccer is very boring for example mls is very slow and not competitive at all. is like watching high school football compated to the top soccer leagues in the world like epl and la liga... anyways just to throw it out there soccer is the most popular sport in the world and its growing more every day here is a video of one of the best players in the world

I HATE watching sport.

soccer is very boring, unless your watching a word class team like barca vs man utd or somthing, the only sport i really enjoy watching is boxing

I love soccer, however I have two issues with it. Games are alsways on so early in the morning here I never get up in time to see all of them and second the games are so long I often don't have two hours to watch one game. I love playing it though and the local pro team here is decent so me and my Da often go to those games.
