Could someone please tell me why people older than 6 watch My Little Pony?

I have several brony friends and I don't understand.

I dunno, how do you exist, how do I exist? I know that I do exist, but how? I haven't a clue.

They exist because people (including those over 6) watch and enjoy the show. Thats why!

Well I saw it on tv one morning after a criminal minds induced nightmare, gave it a try and it was actually pretty awesome.

They watch it and find they enjoy it. What's so hard to grasp here?

1.How can adults like a show about ponies?

Lauren Faust rebooted a quality dead franchise by getting an A team of animators, writers, composers/musicians, and voice actors to make a show targeted at the family audience in the same way Pixar does with movies.

Faust really wanted to get her own series made, Galaxy Girls, but Hasbro only offered MLP. She decided to make the best of it by ^

Bronies enjoy the quality made show created by all this.

2:How can can a "girly" show gain such popularity.

The Internet, and its anonymity.

The internet allows users to have a faces less avatar not connected to them. Allowing them to explore interest they would normally keep bottled up.(the whole niche entertainment movement the internet brought forth that helped other entertainment properties, like with anime)

Then throw in a good helping of meme advertising and you have popularity.

Yeah, I've seen that one meet-up image thrown around a lot. There's some normal looking people there, there's plenty of creepy looking people there, and they're all in their dank nerd dungeon. How about a few other pictures?

Pretty, normal looking, average bunch of guys and girls, right? Not creepy, overweight nerds, or strange old men with funny beards?

Edit: Don't bother telling me that I screened this for only the good pictures. I simply searched "Vancouver Brony Meetup" on Equestria Daily, and took all the meet-up pictures from the top five or so Nightly Round-up results, plus the ones from tonight's Nightly Roundup.

It's just a good show. Don't like it? Fine (I've got no motivation today...).
