How long and how easily could the U.S. conquer Canada militarily?

It's not like we would just stand out in the open and be like "hey, we're the Canadian army, shoot at us" If America even tried to bomb Canada, UK and about the rest of the world would bomb the crap out of America and btw Russia has way more nukes then America.

I'm a proud Canadian, but even I know Canada would never stand a chance against the U.S. militarily. It's just not even fair to compare, we are 10 times smaller than the U.S. in terms of population and finanaces. All of our major cities are within 50 miles or so of the border and we are no a very military oriented society. I don't get the point of this thread, the U.S. could conquer almost any nation in the world, they are a frigging super power. So why even bother asking, we all already know the answer.

Why does everyone think they would be so sucessful?? They haven't beaten the taliban, and you can't say it's because they are all hiding in mountains. I mean why doesn't US go to those moutains and kill them then?? It's not my white house, I'm Canadian too. I think very highly of the Canadian Armed Forces (I have several friends in the military) and on and even numbers basis, I think they would be more than a match for the American Military. But it's not a one on one duel here. The American army personel out number ours more than 10:1. How would we stand up to that? Not only that, but they have a far surperior military infrastructure and equipment. They have thousands of M1 Abrams tanks compared to our 80+ Leopard 2 tanks. They have almost 200 F-22 fighter jets and thousands of other combat aircraft compared to our 80 CF-18 Hornets. The U.S. can't dominate the Taliban because the Taliban fight dirty (Suicide bombings, killing civilians and IED's) which is something Canadians would never resort to.

Yeah but other countries would help Canada too. I highly doubt US could ever beat US in a war and Canadas army would get much larger if US tried to take over Canada but everyone I know would love to help Canada fight the US. Trust me most countries wouldn't let America take over Canada, just like they didn't let Germany take over the whole world. I mean America is lucky Japan didn't do more damage in in world war 2, they could have but I guess they were just taking it easy on Americans.

Let me put it this way...

With the exception of China or maybe North Korea based on sheer numbers, no one could stand against the US for an extended period of time in straight warfare... Canadas military would fall almost instantly...

But thats the thing... the world would not sit by and let us bully an obviously weaker country... some my stick by us(Germany would, I think), but I would imagine much of the EU would declare war on the US... and China or Russia may take advantage of the negative feelings...

But no consequences, no world implication... Canada would fall in a week...
