I had a core group of friends in HS, but mostly it was my fellow bandmates (yes, I was a trumpet blowing band geek all through middle and high school :P) who I talked to and hung out at school, and for the most part I was invisible to everyone else. I liked it that way though since I thought the "popular" groups of kids usually consisted of nothing but thick headed a holes and snobby girls who scream when you toss a basketball within ten feet of them. I wasn't popular, but it was by choice (not to mention I was much more socially awkward still in HS). How popular were/are you in High School OT?

Not so popular :/ I was usually so focussed on school work that I became invisible with other HS kids. Looking back I could have done so much better , by that I mean go to more parties , know more girls etc .

Not at all. I have a few friends (I wouldn't even call them close friends - but they are friends) but other than that, nobody knows who I am.

In Middle School I would have considered myself pretty popular as I was friends with pretty much every group. In my current school there are so few kids that the idea of popularity doesn't exist because everyone knows each other and gets a long pretty well.

I wasn't short of friends, but I was mainly friends with guys cos the girls at my high school were too b-itchy. Not to mention I played video games, watched MMA, etc so the guys were easier and more fun to talk to. I was voted prom queen, but I dunno if that shows popularity. I kept to myself in high school, strayed from arguments and the like, so I was just a nice person who was nice to everyone. Not to toot my own horn or anything though, obviously.

Um, you were popular :P. A girl in HS that plays video games, watches MMA, and gets voted Prom Queen is definitely a popularity magnet.

No I wasn't. I had a small group of friends I was fond of and thats it.

If anything, I was the "go-to nerd" when someone wanted help with their work.

A ghost :P . . . not really. Most of my friends transferred schools through high school.

Now im just cool with everyone but i do not really hang out with a lot of people now in high school. I hang out with my other friends.

So im not popular and nor am i seeking that goal.

I was the Geek Squad in Middle school lol. Always had people asking me for help cause I always used to do really well. HS though that kind of changed and I dropped to a C average student .

I dunno I can't read peoples thoughts. By sixth form there weren't as many people, and most of the people who were left were pretty decent so I'd speak to anyone really.

Ha, well I watched wrestling too, and that was generally frowned upon by my female peers. I think most of my votes came from the guys when being voted prom queen, I can't be to sure, but the girls never liked me, so I'd argue that I wasn't very popular with them.

I was pretty popular, it kills me to think its over now though since I graduated in May :( But yea I was cool with everyone basically, all the little cliques and groups liked me, I could hang on with anyone at any time, but usually it was just me and my brother hanging out together (we were in the same grade) but now all thats over too because he moved out :( Growing up sucks sometimes.

Nothing wrong with C average. Honestly, I acted smarter than I actually was in HS. I only got an A in music, the rest of my grades consisted of B's and and a couple of C's.

Yeah same here. It was more just me being lazy on certain homework assignments and projects, and I've always done poorly on tests, regardless of how much I study for them.

I always had friends I guess.. 6th and 7th grade they weren't of the best quality, though. 8th through 10th grade I had mediocre quality friends, I liked them I guess, most of them, but I never cared all that much about maintaining the friendship outside of school, mostly because I hated wasting my weekends doing anything that didn't involve sleeping. After halfway through 10th grade, I quit public school for online homeschooling, so I guess from that point on there's no popularity anything.

In secondary school, I was pretty cool with nearly everyone. In college, well, I abandoned the whole idea of popularity and rebelled against the whole retarded student sub-culture by locking myself in my room.

I still made more friends that I'd liked to have done regardless.

I was always pretty popular in school but more often then not, it was usually for all the wrong reasons. I ran around lots with a extremely large group of guys all the way from middle school through most of high school(called ourselves as a group the "Royal Fam") and being the only girl member at the time lead people to make some pretty nasty assumptions about me.

I'm in the middle between "popular" and "average". The only reason is because I'm a well-known nice guy who doesn't make enemies. Other than that I hang out with the "nerd" group, and basically every other one...

i went to a small high school. we had just over 200 students. i never really tried to be popular, since i was relatively shy. that being said, i was in the drama club, where i was [compartmentally] not shy. but in class situations i really only had 2, maybe 3 people i considered my friends. somehow though, in senior year i was the only NON football player who was nominated for Homecoming King. it was a surprize honor. i didn't win, but i got a crown and cape and my name was announced at the Homecoming game. Oh, and i dated a senior girl when i was a junior :)

i graduated in 05. i miss high school. college has no magic in it. people talk and such, but it just doesn't have the same vitality that high school did. in high school, there was a sense of "we're all in this together," and for most of it, you could count on going through it all with the same bunch of people. but in college, you're on your own. it's dreary.
