I don't really think GTA4 is appropriate for your age. Sure, you are a teen, but look at me. I'm 16 and I have the game (even though I'm not 17 yet, I can tell the difference between fiction and reality and my parents know I've seen much worse through other entertainment), and I must say, it's almost completely filled with adult language/f-bombs, you can go into a strip club, and you're also convinced to run over pedestrians and shoot police since they're the biggest annoyances in GTA4.

But it really depends on your overall maturity.

I'm sure you're not the only adult here that thinks this same way. I, on the hand, do not. We have a rule in our house that states there will be no games rated Mature in our house. As far as movies are concerned, the rule is similar - There will be no movies rated R in our house. Any other games or movies are decided on a case by case basis.

To the TC - In my opinion, your mother is correct but that really is a decision the family needs to make together.

Just one more thing - Because you know what a vagina is does not make you mature or an adult for that matter.

I agree that children under 17 should not be able to play this game but are you serious about not having any R rated movies or M rated games in your house. Thats a little excessive in my opinion! Wait a second, this is the reincarnation of Ward Cleavor isnt it!

By the way, it's Springtime, stop making such a big deal about a $60 game that you sit in a chair and manipulate a joystick to play and go outside. You're fourteen. You're not going to get those years back. If you are thirty and living in a 15 X 20 apartment with no job than who cares, play until your eyes pop open.

If the game is 17+, it's 17+. There's a reason for that, if anyone decide to play it without looking at the rating then the rating becomes useless... and if the rating becomes useless they will just ban the game the next time. The fact is, if it wasn't of that 17+ rule, the game would be banned so kids/teens don't play it.

The reason the game is 17+ is because personality is not forged as solid as an adult before that.
