Well if you drown, youre already dead.
If you are drowning that means you have already inhaled water and are probably unconcious... in other words ur screwed.
Don't breathe and die from suffocation. Technically you never drowned.MgamerBD
Nah, then he'll just pass out and then drown.

Technically, drowning does not equal death. People have drowned and been saved.
Wouldn't that be resuscitation from death? So they would be dead unless someone resuscitated them if they drowned wouldn't they? So drowning does equal death. If only you could also call upon that power of MJ that is hidden away in all of us and combine them to Moonwalk right out that damn pool. You could also call forth the power of Jesus hidden away in all of us...and walk that damn water.
That will show it who's the boss.

You simply do not have to have died to have drowned.

According to the dictionary, to drown means to "to die under water or other liquid of suffocation" when used as a verb, or "to kill by submerging under water or other liquid" when used as a verb with and object.[QUOTE="MrGeezer"][QUOTE="KcurtorMas"]

But he alread said that no one is there to save you.Yes, which means that you will die.
However, the person who I was quoting stated that if you drown, you are ALREADY dead. And that is incorrect, regardless of if there is anyone there to save you.
Drowning precedes death. Death does not precede drowning, and the two do not occur simultaneously. You drown, THEN you die. And if you are drowning, then you are NOT already dead, because dead people don't drown.

Because people HAVE drowned and lived to tell about it, and we still lack the ability to bring the dead back to life.
Sorry, but your dictionary is wrong.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DrownedI would rather side with this definition.
"Drowningisdeathfrom suffocation (asphyxia) caused by a liquid entering the lungs and preventing the absorption of oxygen leading to cerebralhypoxiaandmyocardial infarction."
This is what I think you are talking about: "Near drowningis the survival of a drowning event involving unconsciousness or water inhalation and can lead to serious secondary complications, including death, after the event."
