No I wouldnt do it.
I believe it was fortunate for humanity that Christianity existed.
Of course I cant know every possible outcomes but I believe the above.

no, i would never change anything using time travel, that would be stupid and irresponsable. Every single change I make could change the world for the better for the worse, and the risk isn't worth it
No, people would just come up with some other crazy relgion that everyone would follow anyway... Darth-Caedus
This.
I don't believe in god nor aliens, only where i believe in is humans, doctors who save lifes, fireman who helps
its not god its us
Any form of time-travel is unethnical, it could and would create catostrophic events to occur in the future.
Why is it so many seem completely oblivious to the fact that Christianity has actually done good things for humanity?mindstorm
This right here. If everyone were to have found out that uh...God didn't exist, who knows what mayhem there'd be. Maybe morality wouldn't even exist anymore...many would believe that there'd be no point in life.
Those firemen help, ok. Deal with it.

Uh...that's basically implying that atheists have no morality. Which is completely wrong. Also, how do you know that morals wouldn't exist without religion? I'm sure they would. Saying they wouldn't shows a complete lack of faith in humanity. I mean you might as well kill yourself.Comon it's a hypothetical situation in which you know God doesnt exist, let's not get into the practicality of it...[QUOTE="SolidSnake35"]No... Either way, I'm not sure you can argue that it's possible to disprove God theoretically. If you ask me, there'd always be reason to believe in God... killing Jesus would be pointless.Anonymous_2
And sure people may believe in God but without jesus there will be one huge "less" reason to believe in one...
Well I'm saying there'd always be a reason to believe in God. No matter what proof we try to imagine, people would always think of a reason to believe. That makes killing Jesus redundant; immoral on the basis that people would still be 'deluded' as you say. Those firemen help, ok. Deal with it.
How could I not know that the fireman helps :cry:Who said that?[QUOTE="mindstorm"]Why is it so many seem completely oblivious to the fact that Christianity has actually done good things for humanity?Anonymous_2
We are talking about saving people from delusion and not saving the world from "bad things"...
Although you cant argue that if God really doesnt exist than christianity has done more harm to humanity than good...
Yes but the fact is, we are were we we are today because of Christianity for better or worse, changing that would cause the future to be radically different. For all you know we could be living under harsh dictator in a nuclear fallout wasteland. :|

So then in order to stop people from being ignorant, you kill someone that tells everyone to love one another? If that's the case, then you need to learn some of Jesus' own philosophy about loving even your enemies. You don't stop a belief system by killing, you stop a belief system by finding out whether it is in accordance with truth.[QUOTE="mindstorm"]Why is it so many seem completely oblivious to the fact that Christianity has actually done good things for humanity?magitekk

Many morals could come from basic survival. Treat others as you'd like to be treated yourself, for example. While ever humans coexist, there'd be morals... they might not be entirely virtuous but I hardly think we'd be living in a state of total disrepair.Who said that?[QUOTE="Anonymous_2"]

I can not confirm nor deny that. What I believe is that Jesus or not, God or not, bad and good things are going to happen.
People will just find different excuse for their behavior. Some people used Christianity as a means to support slavery...some use it as a means to save the world.
Basically, its the people, not the religion.

Only 19% of people in the Czech Republic believe in God, and it's a civilised country without problems with crime.]Only 19% of people in the Czech Republic believe in God, and it's a civilised country without problems with crime.Funky_LlamaWe thinking of the same Czech Republic? The reason I didn't study in Prague is because of the massive ammounts of minor crime there. You may not get murdered, but you're going to get pickpocketed.
Save people from being deluded? How about preventing the dark ages that dragged progress backwards for hundreds of years and cost countless lives, not forgetting all the people that have been oppressed (e.g homosexuals) as a result of that religions teachings.

First you need to establish that this delusion is necessarily bad. Besides, scientists may be just as deluded.Vandalvideo...in what sense may scientists be just as deluded?

The point is that it's pretty much a godless country which, even if it does have petty crime issues, is far from the nihilist dystopia the other guy was imagining. :/
