I don't understand this about conservatives and gay marriage

Social conservatives claim that gay marriage will undermine the structure of marriage, while at the same time have a higher rate of divorce than liberals.

Isn't getting divorced undermining marriage?

Also, I feel for all that have been persecuted for their beliefs. People that do not support same sex marriage are the newest members of that group.

Except that's a ridiculous comment to make. I do not want to segregate LGBT people from anything. Practically no one that is reasonable wants that. I don't hate those people. I just hold an opinion about marriage and I posted that opinion without attacking anyone and look at what happens.

But you do want to segregate them from marriage?

I believe that marriage is between a man and a woman. A gay man can marry a woman just like I can. By definition they are not segregated any more than anyone else.....hence why they are trying to change the definition of marriage. Personally, it does not affect me and I do not really care. My marriage is more under God than it is the government. My point was to be careful not to become like the people you are trying to defeat. That doesn't help anyone.

In most of the world they just use the term 'liberal' because that means center or center-right. However, in the United States the so called 'progressive' democrats (far-left) hijacked the term 'liberal', and therefore the term 'classical liberal' is used.
