so, here's the story. as embarassing as it sounds, i'm telling this story because i need help.
so, i was listening to my ipod while i was peeing. then, i accidently dropped my ipod in the toilet and i took it out as soon as possible. since it had a case, it didn't look like it was completely broken, as an image came up in my ipod saying that there's a problem. however, since it fell on my pee, i felt very nasty about it. so, i cleaned it with windex, but i was satisfied with it. so i put soap on it and washed it with water. i only did that because i had a warranty and i thought it would cover it and everything would be okay. so after few days, i wentto bestbuy. i had a 3 year warranty (BestBuy Performace Service Plan)for my ipod and i paid 50 dollars for it. it's been a good year and a half since i bought my ipod video.
so, when i went to the best buy, i went straight to the customer service. the customer service person did not seem friendly at all and i really hated that, fearing that she wouldn't really try to help me. so i told her that i dropped my ipod in the water and that it stopped working. then she says that there's nothing they could do about it. first of all, the plan doesn't cover water damage, and she also said that it would be impossible to fix it if it's water damaged. she also added that she could send it to apple, and they would examine it. then, as soon as apple finds out that it's water damaged, they won't fix it and charge me just for looking at the ipod. so i was like that's bull****. she also said that even if i went tothe apple store, the workers there would've said the same exact thing. anyways,i just left, thinking that it would be impossible to get my ipod back. i believed what she said was true, but i still had doubts as she didn't really look friendly at her and she looked very bothered and annoyed by my situation.
also, my friend told me that his friend dropped his ipod on a soda and it stopped working. so he let his ipod dry and sent it back to either bestbuy or apple (i'm not sure) and they fixed it. if it was bestbuy that fixed it, then i would be pissed. so anyways, i was wondering if it was to fix an ipod that's water damaged. also, if i didn't tell the customer person guy that it was water damaged, do you think they would have done something about it. if i were to go again and a different person was there, should i hide the fact that it was water damaged and what other excuses should i give? i really need help guys as i don't want to drop another 250 on a brand new ipod video. your help would be really appreciated. so is it really impossible to fix a water damaged ipod?
