There's many reasons why the US would want to attack itself..... and thoes reasons shouldnt be overlooked, especially not when there's so many contradictions and errors in the story the government provided.

And I would love to hear someone actually proving these theories wrong instead of just dismissing and ignoring them...

xaos

Considering now of the conspiracy theories have no proof and from what I've seen of them.....they are outright lies....it's not necessary....and no, the US would NOT want to attack itself. Seriously dude...I know you're anti US but....:|

Yes it would want to attack itself because the US needed a new enemy after the fall of communism.....A far fetched theory but still very valid if you look into it....

Why would americans lie about 9/11? I would have understood if it were people from Europe or somewhere else but these are americans.....

Why the hell do you think I'm anti US? I'm just providing a different point of view........Are you really that shallow? I've lived in the US for 4 years and I think it is a great country, so don't go and falsely accuse me of being anti american.

I seem to remember you saying the US deserved what happened on 9/11 because of foreign policy......

I said that the US had it comming, because of foreign policy...It was a question of time

Don't twist what I say....

"Had it comming" is absolutely equivalent to "deserved it." If you don't understand that, then you need to learn more about the language so that you can express what you are actually trying to say. In the meantime, the rest of us can only go by what you say, not "what you mean."

Don't divert this into a grammar debate....

We can discuss in French or German if you want to, since English is my 4th language I find it hard to debate people who speak it fluently.

I meant that it was only a question of time before someone attacked the US......a minor error on my side, I've noted this, problem solved...This have only happened once btw so your last comment was unecessary

Fair enough; I'm not trying to keep you from participating in this discussion, just to make sure that everyone who is participating is saying what they mean, not saying things and then backpeddling with "that's not what I meant!" As for the US being attacked, almost every major nation has undergone terrorist attacks of some sort or other. The USA could be the most isolationist, non-interactive nation in the history of ever and we would still have experienced some sort of attacks. Given that, it seems reasonable to build foreign policy around enlightened self-interest and trying to support free market democracies around the world, if we're going to get attacked regardless of what our actions are. Of course, we have a pretty sketchy track record of actual follow through on that, but we still compare favorably in that regard to other world powers, such as China and USSR (in my opinion).

I completely agree with you.

And to clear things up, I'm by no means saying that the US deserved it, I'm saying that it was a question of time since the US pissed people of when they decided to get involved in the middle eastern conflicts.

Wow, you dumb ***es that are talking about America bombing Japan and how it is so bad, are completely wrong.  If Japan never attacked Pearl Harbor then it never would have happened.  They should of that about what we could do back before they did that.  We gave them a chance to surrender.  They are the ones that started it.  The US was defending itself.

P.S. Anyone that thinks the US deserved what it got and could care less about the people that died in 9/11, I don't even have words for.  It's sad.  Leave the US and go live as a towel head somewhere else.

Your friend is a smart kid. Osama bin Laden is under protection by America...I mean we freaking have like 50,00,000 more troops in Iraq than in Afghanistan...Bush is a disgrace to all the people he murdered. All just to get into Iraq.

I'm not saying he planned it, but I'm saying he made a deal with Osama afterwards and was like "Sweet dude I'm going to Iraq".

Bush belongs in jail.

Are you retarded or something? You think they just woke up one day and said hey, lets go hijack some planes and attack America LOL. No, they planned this out for a LONG time.

Yeah, I am sure they had some expert flying lessons in Iraq or in America flying sessnas. I am not saying America attacked themselves or whatever, I am saying that middle eastern terrorists didnt.

Yes actually they did get flying practice. I they planned this entire thing out to every point, do you really think that they would just throw the terrorists out there without letting them learn enough flying skills to carry out the attack? They are evil, not retarded. They knew what they were doing.

If I, a person of modern technology and living in a technological world, hasnt the slightest clue as how to fly a commercial airliner....... well I doubt an Arab can comprehend. I just cant believe that. I am sorry. And those buildings were some of the best engineered buildings ever made, and they just collapse after a plane hits it. Those planes should have been like rice smacking the buildings. Also, the buildings collapsed like an top to bottom implosion. If the planes made them fall, they would have toppled, not collapsed on itself.

Did you, as an America citizen, undergo flight training? You think that just because you live in a technological world you would know how to fly? No, you need training. They had that. And read my post a few above this to read the temperature explanation.

So you think someone stupid enough to kill themself can comprehend the complex mechanics of flying a commercial airliner?

you ever heard of kamikaze pilots? apparently not.

[QUOTE="kornholio360"]I sense a long thread...xaos

A long thread of ignoring facts and calling people names if they disagree with you.

Yay for maturity and age level of the GS forums. Most people on these boards aren't even old enough to vote. Of the 20% that are, only half will (10%). Of that 10%, only 1/3 is independent and thinks for themselves. So the people that 9/11 truth concerns make up 3% of the forum population.

It's just not worth it.

9/11 was a self-inflicted, false-flag attack. "But why Mr. retarded conspiricy poopoo head?" Because George Bush needed an excuse to invade Iraq and suck tax dollars out of the American peoples' pockets and put them into his own. Power at any cost.

I'm done...

Wouldn't it make sense to manufacture actual evidence pointing at Iraq in that case? The fact that absolutely nothing in the attacks pointed at Iraq alone is enough to deflate this argument in my book.

don't ask questions like that and put holes in the conspiracy theory.

Nearly every point theorists make have been shot down by evidence and common sense.

If the evidence to the US attacking itself was evident and clear, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

No I don't....and actually, the only thing a super power needs is an ignorant population who follows what the government says. The US became a super power because the Europeans fought eachother, not because it did anything special. Same goes for the British Empire and the Roman empire.

"Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

Although I do agree with Goering's quot, I have to believe you are out of your mind if you think the Government committed these acts.

Not only do theorists have no evidence, but they defy the laws of physics, pervert science, and make huge leaps in logic and common sense.  i.e. keeping a secret this big from millions of people in plain site, while a few kids on the internet are able to see it.

I have no doubt that america was attacked by terrorists that day. The question is wether the US government allowed it to happend or not.

I posted the quote to back up my claims which were that a super nation doesnt need to do anything special to become one, it just has to controll its people properly.

Exsistance, and opinons are subjective ideas created by the persepective of many different people.

You're all wrong.

Anyone can have a right answer. Just like anyone can have the wrong answer.

Here is why. All of our facts and information are not tested scientific expirements. They are pieces of material that proclaim to be science. Yet, we've never seen them replecated infront of us. So, why do we believe in them? Because someone say's it 's so.

It's all apart of culture. We know nothing. We just think we do.

Whether conspiracy's or plots to create war, or money, or whatever someone wants.. those ideas don't mean anything. Just like any other idea us silly people create.

We just think we do.

it is completely wrong, if i read it correctly. he is basically saying there are no such things as facts and that everything we hold out as "facts" are just cultural constructs. i am familiar with this stupid point of view, as i was forced by communist (no, i'm not using hyperbole) professors as an undergrad to read derrida, foucault, et al., who all propagate this idiocy. as if it is a matter of "opinion" that you will drown if you tie yourself to a boulder and throw yourself into the ocean.

It's not opinion at all.  The conspiracy theories have been shown to be incorrect time and time again.  It's not subjective based.  He is wrong and if you agree....you are wrong.

He doesnt say that conspiracy theories are right....

What I'm agreeing with is that none of us actually know anything about what's really going on..... We can come with fancy links and facts but in the end we're all in the same boat, sheeps of our goverments.

Are you retarded or something? You think they just woke up one day and said hey, lets go hijack some planes and attack America LOL. No, they planned this out for a LONG time.

The alleged terrorists were Saudi's....and they worked for Saudi Arabian airlines......not Iraqi. :| Is it so difficult to accept that the U.S. government aren't the proud and honest people they and the public have made them to be?

the US did alot more damage to the familys of hiroshima and nagasaki, and what did they do??? nothing...why??? cause they couldnt....the only reason we are fighting them is because we are bigger...we are bullys the smaller countrystrey555555

If American troops invaded instead of using the bomb.  Everyone of those "families" would have sacrificed themselves to kill as many troops as they could.  In a way, we killed just as many, as if we would have invaded. We just didn't give them the chance to kill alot of our men.

Shut up, like I said before, those two bombs save more innocent lives than it killed.

Again. US lives were saved. NOT the Japanese.

Actually, I'd be willing to bet more Japanese lives were spared as well.

To all the people saying America was stupid for dropping atomic bombs on Japan:

You're absolutely right; we shouldn't have done that. After all, just becuse they sucker-punched Pearl Harbor doesn't give us the right to complain about it. If only we could go back in time and surrender to the Japanese like we SHOULD have done, the world would have been a better place. And that's what we should do with this war: surrender and let the guys who killed thousands of people in 9/11 come in and better our country for us. After all, we don't have the right to defend ourselves, as WWII clearly shows. Why oh why didn't we just surrender?!?!!

Hypocrites.

GameBoy966

A sound secondary was to detonate the bomb at sea so Japan could see what brutal power the bomb was capable of, some many hypotheisised that Japan might have surrendered due to that.

And I think really the only way to compare 9/11 issue on why terrorists have attacked us then was many things we have done to the middle east.  Though no terrorist attack is justified against civilians, the US has made alot of many enemies by supporting numerous dictatorships.. They gave Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, etc etc all brutal dictatorship that killed their own people support both economically and political at times.. Even worse we were the ones that gave countries such as Iran and Iraq weapons.

But to answer the original question:  Yeah compiracy therorists are so stupid, they reminds me of fanatics/zealots who regardless of numerous proven facts they still believe otherwise.

"Because in every post you talk about how Americans are a bunch of idiots, you dont become a super power with a bunch of idiots "

Hermann Göring - Executive Officer of the Third Reich

The US became a superpower based on its large industrial and economic strengths - it was an emerging superpower even before WW2, the war just caused the US to ramp up both its industrial and political muscle.  Prior to WW2, the US was trying to adopt a policy of isolationism, but after WW 2 it became a major political force in the world.

im not talking about the 9/11 conspiracy theories, but rather your broader contention that governments shape everything we hear/see/etc. that suggests that governments are actively concealing certain things, allowing other things to come to light, misrepresenting certain things, all to achieve a prescribed end. that would be a conspiracy.
