You say there is no God. But what if there is? You're taking a big chance by saying there is no God.

What if when you die you find out there is a God? Now you burn in Hell for all eternity!!!

SaintTheKing

let me explian

God gave us free will (ability to make our own choices), people then use free will to create religion. MANY religions are spawned thus creating a pretty good variety. What you suggest is like playing the lottery, "Didn;t get the right numbers???" "Too bad, you burnin Hell forever!!" The arguement you make is so absurdly weak.

but it is a reason to not allow them into your perfect kingdom.

BTW, Hell isn't literal. the descriptions of it are standard 1st century Jewish metaphors for shame. Hell is a place of shame

second, if you want to be free of your sins, then you have to accept the saving grace of Jesus' blood shed on the cross

quiglythegreat

How precisely could we be perfect? Perfection is 100% subjective.

if we were perfect i wouldnt consider anyone human.

RKfromDownunder

You think this is about chance?

Athiests don't ask salvation of Jesus Christ because it would be a prostitution of their morals. Some people care about the truth.

Do you actually think that if a god exists and he is the God of the Judeo-Christian scriptures that he would accept the half-assed wish for salvation from someone who said it, "just in case"? If so, does that tell you something about your 'God'?

I'd rather burn in hell. Actually, if God does exist I'll roundhouse kick him in the face if he tries to send me to hell. Then I'LL be your God.

hahha. that reminds me of in that movie The ONe at the end where he's sent to the prison world and he says "I am not your **** you are all MINE!!" XD

If God sends me to hell for eternity because I chose to make choices based on factual or empirical evidence, then good riddance to you folks in Heaven: he sounds like an ass.

If there is a god... then why does he let people drive other people to suicide...? I don't think a wealthy successful business man with a wonderful family and everything to live for would jump off a cliff... but someone who has been made fun of their entire life and has no friends is driven to this by those around them... why would a god let them be lead to this...? Why does god let people murder each other...? Why do children who haven't even had a chance to live their life die of cancer? This is why I doubt a god... Squeets

Typical response: "God works in mysterious ways."

At least according to christianity.

In Mathew it says Jesus was tempted by the devil. How could that be if he were in hell? Simple, hes not in hell.

I think Satan could have powers of Astral Projection if need be.

What if it is the other way round, you're getting your hopes up for nothing.

Nice way of dogging the question man.

If the basis of your beliefs is avoiding getting spanked by a God that you believe in to avoid getting spanked by a God that you believe in to avoid getting spanked by a God... do you see the problem with the OPs logic? The threat of eternal damnation isn't very frightening when you don't believe it exists.

Pascal's Wager is a very bad method of conversion. Unless God likes to be viewed as an afterlife insurance policy.

I wouldn't go so far as to say that, but the "just in case" factor wouldn't exactly be smiled upon.

Yeah but you're beleiving in him as a safe gaurd and don't really beleive in his teachings, you just dont want to go to hell, isnt that the same as not beleiving in general?

Yeah that's not a good reason, more like because he gave his one and only son for us, and is a loving God. I know for sure there is a God, because I talk to him everyday. But this is the Internet and no one is going to change there mind over what I say over the Internet. Most young people these days Don't believe in God because they are told he is a evil and evolution thrown down there neck. Don't quote me I don't want to get into a big debate because I got to get ready to go to some places.

No, because the "just in case" factor relies on some amount of belief in the truth of the religion. You don't take a car insurance policy unless you think you might get in a crash.

There I quoted you. What would you prefer us to believe? God created and placed us here, and the Earth is 6000 years old? Dinosaur bones were placed there by god to test our faith?

And what makes you think your God has time for all of our petty squabbles on Earth, when he has to run the rest of the universe?

Who reported my message?

That was a serious question

Anyway satan is a good guy because he tortures the bad guys for being bad. If satan was so bad then surely hell would be heaven to all the bad people
