Shh! Silence! No questions! Just believe!
Anyway, I'm like you. I try to learn about as many different religions as I can. I don't have the answers for you. There are many questions I have about issues dealing with the Bible as well...
I guess, i never knew they had different names too.hagiiiiiiiiiiOhhhhhh there we go. That makes more sense. Ok I can answer that. Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are all in the same bible. They wrote their own different experiences in the New Testament. They are all different books INSIDE the same Bible.
The 4 books of the Gospel (Which means The Good News) Are the first 4 books of the New Testament (The part where Jesus comes into play). Each book was written from a different disciple that traveled with Jesus. So they differ a little because they are each man's perspective or account on what he saw. If you interviewed 4 different people about the same thing you'd get 4 different stories. Same thing goes for the 4 books of the Bible.PercivalCoxSo the bible wasn't written by Jesus but rather 4 people?

I don't know how many but it was a LOT more than just 4 people. Those are just 4 small books of the bible that the disciples experience with Jesus.Â

The Gospels are basically his life story you could say. His biography.
I am interested in learning all sorts of religions, however i have few questions to christian people, please answer them intelligently.
What happened to the original bible sent by God? Why are there 4 Bibles each of the containing different information?
If there are 4 bibles which one is the original, also if there are 4 bibles, doesnt that mean it's not the word of God but rather of people who have changed it? Also that if there are 4 bibles left, doesnt this mean there were more bibles left b4 the 4?
hagiiiiiiiiii

The problem is that they are supposed to be God's words... And Jesus is executed a different way, and the resurrection happens different in each story.
Also that what is the punishment for commiting a crime in Christianity? What are the rules for not getting yourself into sin? Also, what is allowed and what is dissallowed in Christianity in terms of food?hagiiiiiiiiii
The rules are the Ten Commandments. Thou shall not kill and all that. The book of Leviticus tells you the dietary laws about not eating pork and all that stuff. The Dietary laws aren't practised by most christians. Just Jews and Adventists follow those laws to the tee.
Also that what is the punishment for commiting a crime in Christianity? What are the rules for not getting yourself into sin? Also, what is allowed and what is dissallowed in Christianity in terms of food?hagiiiiiiiiii1. Do not worship any other gods.
What is the old testament about? If Jesus never wrote anything down, then how do you guys know which is the right one and which is not?hagiiiiiiiiiiIt deals with everything before Jesus' time. He and his disciples based their teachings on it. It is almost exactly the same as the Hebrew Bible. It also contains the book of psalms and details the lives of the prophets like Moses.
I know about the 10 commandments, how about the punishments for breaking those commandments?hagiiiiiiiiii
Now that really depends on which Christian religion you go to. Each one has their own take on transgressing God's laws. Most believe that if you break a commandment you have sinned. And Sinners go to hell. But because Jesus died to save humans from sin all you have to do is pray to him and ask forgiveness. So when you die, if all your sins have been forgiven you go to heaven. If you are a sinner you go to hell. And each religion has varying degrees as to just how strict God is on who goes to hell.

Death and damnation.
Unless you say you're sorry.

each bible caters to a different sect of christianity (,at least, that's what i think,) and culture altogether. so claiming only bible to be the "ultimate Bible" or winner bible or whatever would be questionable - just as much as religion in itself is questionable
Christianity is less about rules and punishment and more about a relationship and the disappointment of disappointing the One on the other end. If you believe that Christianity is simply follow this rule and you get the reward of living in heaven, then you've failed to understand the purpose of God sending Jesus Christ to die for the sins of mankind.
Just like you or I enjoy the company of a good friend, Jesus Christ is the exact same thing but on a much deeper level.
Jesus was sent to offer the gift of unconditional love--something designed to fill our deepest of needs: to be accepted and loved.
The punishment is eternity in hell. But if you ask for forgiveness sincerely and don't do it again you are ok because Jesus died for our sins, it was the ultimate sacrifice.1stCommandoIf jesus is the son of god, then why would god call his own son? Is that something a father should do?
If Jesus is god, then the bible is also the word of god, if so then there shouldn't be 4 versions but rather 1, however you guys say that it is not written by Jesus but by his followers. Hmm, i'm getting confused.hagiiiiiiiiiiBecuase it was written by men. They were inspired by God, but God/Jesus didn't write it. His prophets wrote it.

Hmm, i'm getting confused.hagiiiiiiiiiiThe word of God can be expressed through the words and writings of ordinary humans (though it is important to discern the nutjobs [Pat Roberts] from the valid ones [Billy Graham]).

According to many original Christian theologians, Jesus is literally God's son, just as he is literally God.

Jesus called Himself the son of God. Well the Book of John starts off with "In the beginning there was the word and the word was God wand the word was with God. So if that is true Jesus can be with God and God at the same time.
To save humanity satan tried to trick petrus and Jesus got mad at the satan, i found this quote on the internet from one of the bibles, can someone explain to me the logic behind this? Didn't Jesus want to save the humans? Also how is it possible that the Satan wanted to save the humans? hagiiiiiiiiii
I've never heard of Petrus. Satan tried to trick humans and Jesus tried to save them is what the Bible teaches. I'm not sure what you are looking at.

That is not canonical in any shape or form. Disregard most of the random sites you find about religions.

I'm glad there is finally a logical discussion of religion here. Not just one person flaming another person's beliefs back and forth.1stCommandoShhhh. Don't jinx it.:P

Oh, I just haven't found someone to single out and humiliate yet... But give me a minute ;)

Oh, thanks alot for answering, i was having doubts to whether the site was trustable or not, i found the rigth quotation though, But He turned and said to Peter, "Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's."

Well just a few more questions, it is possible that there were more then 4 bibles that existed, however if this is true, then who came up with the idea of reducing it to 4, and how did they know that the current 4 are the correct ones?hagiiiiiiiiii
That's an interesting point. There are actually about four books that were almost in the Bible. Mary Magdelan wrote one that never made it in. A group of scholars got together and decided which ones would be included and which wouldn't. So for all we know, there could be more out there that were lost or destroyed.
