I just got harrassed by Police Officers

So i start my car up i had a flat tire and the shop is only 1 block away from my house...i put my hazzards on and drive slowly and get pulled over a half a block away...

I thought the cops were going to help me out or maybe follow me there cautiously...boy was i wrong, they tell me to get out of the car and start searching me and touched me innappropriate, didnt tell me why i got pulled over, then they start saying i look like im on drugs...i said i just woke up im going to fix my tire..

Then they said why are you nervous for..you must be hiding something...i said No im not hiding anything i never get pulled over im nervous and i suffer from anxiety..they werent hearing it...they take my keys out and open my trunk without permission...(you need a warrant i live in New York City)

Then start to call me a criminal and saying that my name is on the wall of the precinct meanwhile i never been in trouble in my life...Then they started with race remarks saying i must be Albanian..im like no sir im Italian, they said same crap...Then i have a wooden stick in my car to hold my seat alignment and they told me that i probably beat people with the stick...im like are you serious right now, they kept telling me its a weapon, i am so mad it was so uncalled for and embarrasing in front of my neighbors.....Can i sue for emotional distress? i want them to lose their jobs or something be done about this....

I'm not an attorny, but I would consider contacting one. Maybe you can get some compensation out of this.

I'd consult an attorney. It helps if you got the names of the officers to. maybe file a complaint at the department. If the cruiser has a camera, they usually pick up audio too. sounds like a clear cut case of cops abusing their power and needless harrassment.

It's probable that nothing will come of it (particularly if the cruiser have no camera) but you might make the wankers life a little less comfortable for a bit.

Must be nice to live were you do, with all the good cops. As for were I live, there's plenty of bad apples here. But that's because we have huge PD's for little podunk towns with hardly any crime. So it's mostly them being **** because they're bored.

I never said the cops in my area are nice. I just can't stand it when people generalize and consider all cops to be 'pigs.' My brother is a cop and puts himself in danger everyday (so do all cops) so I really resent it when people talk trash about cops. (yes, I know, there are some a-hole cops).BreakTheseLinks

Cops are emotionally challenged individuals that are incapable of liking anyone or anything, because that would interfere with their main objective in life, to abuse their power and make those around them cower in fear.

Your story is ridiculous, that's not the dialogue of an adult. When you sue the police you are suing the government. Which means you are suing your neighbors as well as yourself because citizens fund the government
