I hope for the sake of all that's humane that Bush and his administration do not decide that's it's absolutely imperative that we invade Iran and relinquish them of their supposed "nuclear weapons to destroy people".

What I don't seem to understand is that some/most of our soldiers aren't old enough to legally have a beer, but are old enough to die for their country. Just a thought.edgewalker16

If the US goes to war with Iran chances are that they wont have any allies of merit, plus aren't the US forces already over-commited a little bit? (not too sure)... Either way can't see it turning out any better than Iraq...

Also didn't an independent commision come back and say that Iran had no nuclear weapons grade uranium or w/e? I'm not 100% on this as I usually slepe through the news so...

If we were to ever go to war with Iran, which i hope we dont. But if we do, if wouldn't be a cake walk but you can be sure that it would not go on for more than a few months. The combined power of the US military would crush their airforce and cripple their communications, they would be defeated in a few months. This is all if we dont occupy the country, occupation is when things go bad for any moral military.

the paranoia of this administration is far more dangerous than any nuke. If a possible enemy wants war, they will get war. but the best thing to do in such a scenario is cut back, regroup, re-arm, recruit, and prepare for the biggest war in the 21st Century of Humanity. straining a dehydrated beast will only lead to its fall.

I really don't think it'll happen because of a few reasons:

-Not enough manpower...the government would have to re-instate the draft which would only lead to mass chaos and impeachment.

-Political ties...we have very few allies as it is and would have less, if any, were we to invade Iran.

-Congress...there is no way in hell, especially now that the majority is democratic, they would let Bush and his administration go through with it.

-Money...the U.S. doesn't have any. At least not any that can be wasted like it currently is.

I, for one, can't wait for the new democratic president. Of course...McCain might win in which case I'll just move to Germany.

it was congress who declared war on iraq, not Bush. and congress is mostly democrat... kinda makes you wonder who's playing who.
