despite the common refrain from most brain-washed people, it's almost never a good idea to call the police when you have an unexplained circumstance like this. a lot of people do stupid things that can get them in big time legal trouble or get them tossed in the pen. that isn't the path that will lead them out of their troubles. support from their friends might.giton

I already did, because i don't think he's running from them. i think it's something else. They probably won't do anything anyway.

Huge update here. It's the next day now, and early this morning Igot a call from him. He said he's safe, and i shouldn't be trying to find him, because "I may accidently lead the unwanted to him". I asked if it wasthe police he was talking about, and he said no. I asked him if it was a medical, drug, or money problem, and he said he can't say anything more right now. I'm glad to hear he's okay, but I'm still worried.Rukaru

He is addicted to drugs and he was really high the time he fell. That would explain the falling and being scared. Now if that is ture he probably cannot pay off all of the drugs he has bought and is running from the dealers that want to kill him for not paying up.

That does seem to be the most obvious thing, but I want to believe him. Still, I'm tired of sitting here on my computer whne my friend might be in danger. I'm going to go to his neighbor, and use his key and go look around in his room. If he was on drugs, there may be some there. I need to do this before the police come...

Well, he has obviously been lying for quite some time now so you probably should be skeptical of what he tells you.

could be drugs or girlfriend, but for being dumped i'ld have expected just one bad call then that would be it, the fact he hasn't turned up at work could be just that he can't face it now and asking you not to leave would fit in with him not wanting to be alone as he has just lost one person.

Mayby gambling? He could have lost all his money and now he can't pay the rent but i would have thaught he'ld ask to crash at your place. Are you highly against gambling, would he be afraid to tell you?

Get his next door neighbour to call you if he dosn't turn up at all for a day or two, mayby he can keep a look out for people asking for him.

If he was in danger I think his friend would have probably told him, and then ran away. They would probably track him down another way anyhow, if he doesn't know he is being chased.
