I found Eden Lake, well scary isn't the right word... shocking! Really good, yet disturbing movie. I think you'll like it.

Right, the original one, but I haven't seen the American version.
I would definitely recommend checking out the original Shutter. raven_squad
Finally, i can't believe it take so long for this one to appear, this movie is great and the ending is pretty good.
I also would recommend REC is great too, pure horror.
And of course El Orfanato.
If you like movies like The Sixth Sense and The Others this is a must see.
Killer Klowns From Outer Space.
dan-rofl-copter
lol. That movie may be a cult classic, but it's rated PG...
[QUOTE="avatar_genius"]I rented the Chinese version of 3 extremes, but it was really creepy and twisted and I turned it off halfway through. I like horror movies, but not ugly movies. It was just creepy and ugly and vomit-inducing. I'd rather have something creepy and badass, and this was not. The lady turns her stillborn baby into a wonton and eats it? Wtf?Jazz_FanWell, on October 6th a movie that has just been brought to my attention 'Trick 'r Treat' which looks really good. Keep your eye out for that. :P
'Keep your eye out' literally, cause it's halloween? :P

for your scary thrills
High Tension for your awesome, gory, brainscrew
Film-Guy
High tension was pretty good, but the ending was just stupid and illogical.
What is your opinion on [REC]?
I thought it was one of the more genuine, believable, and scary movies Ive seen in a while. It just sucks you in, and I can honestly say its the first horror movie I have seen that actually made me yell out loud.
Also, have you seen the American remake? Does it do the original justice? I do like Dexter's sister...

Yeah REC was a good film, the remake was actually pretty good too. Not as good or intense, and it felt more generic. Worth seeing though, though they showed the ending of the film in the trailer for some stupid reason.
Possession (1980's film), Haute Tension, Jack Ketchums The Girl Next Door, Eraserhead (not really horror but weird as **** ), Audition, Cannibal Holocaust, Nekromantik, Suicide Circle, Session 9 and some French film that starts with 'I' but I forgot.

I didnt like Girl next door much, I thought the other film about that event An American Crime was much better in every way. I thought Ellen Page, and Catherine Keener were fantastic, but its less of a horror film than Girl next door.

I've been meaning to watch that to compare the two. I quite enjoyed Girl Next Door, but it made me feel a little disgusted in myself because I kept expecting certain things to be done to the girls but they weren't, and I was quite disappointed.

And on the poster, and the DVD cover, and every single promotional tie in that was used. It's like putting the statue of liberty on the Planet of the apes DVD.
I'd try seeing the original The Grudge, "Juan". The Ring doesn't really scare me. I wouldn't even classify Saw as horror. I was really disappointed when I saw that movie...
[QUOTE="LiftedHeadshot"][QUOTE="avatar_genius"]
It doesn't matter where, as long as it's good.
I tend to like horror from the far East in general as opposed to American.
THANK YOU! It's because they are soooooooo much better!I agree.
my favorites include:
ring
ring 2
uninvited
mirrors
etc
god those movies were all horribad.... except for mirrors, because after we watched the movie i waited till my wife fell asleep then i woke her up and said hey lets have (special time) so the people in the mirrors can watch. freaked her out. oh and because Keifer was in it. Jack Bauer is the man!if you want a really good horror movie go to blockbuster and go to the horror section and look thru all the older movies from the 80s, they are all full of win. If you have never seen the howling series rent those, they are awesome.
28 Days Later, or (John Carpenter's) The Thing.NBSRDanyea the thing was awesome Kurt Russell FTW!!!!
again, more horrible movies good god you guys have horrible tastes for horror movies.Saw movies

[QUOTE="nikola96"]again, more horrible movies good god you guys have horrible tastes for horror movies. oh come on they're just fun to watch, the twisted yet ironical ways the people die, and the twists in the end are always amazing (1,2 anyway, the first 2 were really good, now they are gettin worse with each one.)Saw movies
