[QUOTE="EboyLOL"]Probably... this could get to be a very messy situation.UbAdm
It also means that once I've finished training with the TA, there's more of a chance that I'll have to go to war :|

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the TA?

Territorial Army. Sort of like a Part-Time member of the army.[QUOTE="UbAdm"][QUOTE="EboyLOL"]Probably... this could get to be a very messy situation.xXBuffJeffXx

Territorial Army. Basically you go through basic part-time while you work (during the weekens and week-nights), and they can pull you into Iraq at any time they like.
I might not be officially in, but apparently i stand a good chance. I don't actually do my phyiscal etc. until September 2008, because i wanted to train as an NCO and you have to be over 19 to do so.
Maybe, but they had better not drag the rest of the UN with them.daniel52587The UN should help.....
[QUOTE="daniel52587"]Maybe, but they had better not drag the rest of the UN with them.LJS9502_basicThe UN should help..... Sorry, I would rather not have to go to war to save some a group of British people. They would have to draft to go to war with Iran. They have a huge military. I, no way in hell, am going to fight a war for that. They can send some SAS after them.
I say yes they will but no they should not.
This is exactly what diplomacy is about. I do not care if anyone says... "bu...but... they will not listen!" Of course they will... no matter how mad nuts someone is, if you offer them something they want, they will listen.
Possibly ending hundreds or thousands of lives just for the lives of a few soldiers is pathetic and this whole deal with doing it for national pride... *GAH*

The USA would most likely join Britain in the war for a few reasons: 1) USA doesnt like Iran at the moment and would like an excuse to go to town with them, 2) Britain and America are close allies, especially after everything Tony Blair did for them.

Its simply the principles involved. Iran thinks it can kidnapp some troops and it will give them some sort of upper hand, give in to whatever demands they may make and it would encourage them to do it again. You don't reward people when they misbehave, you punish them.I say yes they will but no they should not.

Actually, rehabilitation works better.
Why punish the Iranian civilians for something the government/military did?

I just dont see any logic in sending military force there. That would cause more deaths than the Iraqi war in a 4th of the time. A war with Iran would be a REAL war. I dont believe in trading like 12 lives for thousands.

USA would PWN Iran. Overblown "defense" budget FTW!MCGSMBNot to mention most the Pentagon,CIA,NSA,and overall military are calssified
Rehabilitation? I know its not what you mean but you make it sound like you want to send all of Iran to rehab. Iranian civilians elected their government into power and therefore must take some responsibility for its actions, IIRC Iran had an extremely high turn out at its last election. If the citizens want to do something then they can start a movement to release the soldiers, last I heard a group of Iranian students were demanding that Iranian prisoners in Iraq. Chances are they are prisoners in Iraq because they were caught smuggling weapons or something equally reprehensible. Either way they are being held by Americans so there isn't a whole lot the British can do. I know it sucks but pretty much all ways of dealing with countries hurt the populace more than the government. For example look at Zimbabwe, the UN has several sanctions against them but does it hurt Mugabe? Not really, just makes his country poorer I'm sure he is still managing to live a life of luxury. But short of going to war, there isn't much that can be done than use sanctions.Actually, rehabilitation works better.

I got that stats at Wekipedia so it has to be right. mohan88Oh yes it must be 100% irrefutibal fact if you found it on wikipedia.
It actually doesn't matter how many soldiers both countries have. The US had the firepower and the right number of soldiers to start an invasion on Iraq and well they did a good job, they defeated the Iraqi army in less than, what, a month. But now, unfortunatly, they are losing the war with they trained soldiers and firepower.

Iran vs British If it does happen who wins?mohan88
come on man! if Britian invaded Iran, Iran would get erased from the map cause i think the US would get involved, and Iran wouldnt stand a chance against Britian and the US, the leaders of Iran may be stupid, but they aren't suicidal.

actually its was less than 2 weeks, we arent losing the war but the media tries to portray it like that. Its just so hard to determine whos the enemy and who is not, its tough to say the situation there now but we do need to add more troops thereIt actually doesn't matter how many soldiers both countries have.
