If South Korea was invaded and the war lasted over multiple years, would you join the military? I think I would, it may be one of the defining wars of a generation, although I doubt it would last longer then a few weeks unless China gets involved

[QUOTE="-Big_Red-"][QUOTE="Chickity_China"] NK and SK have been exchanging fire in small, isolated skirmishes ever since the "end" of the Korean war. funsohngReally? I had no idea. there was once when North sent 31 spies to Seoul to kill our President in 60's.... and there was another instance when North Korean spies/terrorists blew up our passenger plane and one surviving terrorist is actually not arrested (rather she visited Japan last summer as was invited as a national visitor, which pretty much pissed off.... everyone, really). There were bigger stuff back in those days. and recently, there was 1999, and 2002 Battle of Yeonpyeung (small skirmish along Yellow Sea), 2009 Battle of Daechung, May 2010 sinking of Cheonan, and bombing of Yeonpyeung just 2 days before. We still live in days where the term "defector" is used....
But if they really did invade South, South Koreawould mostly win with all the resources and all the backing they would have
Not to mention South Korea would be getting far more support than just a little from the US if they were invaded by the North. At this point, it would basically be NK against the world (even China). No, because South Korea doesn't need a drastic amount of help to defeat the North. The South Korean military + a little help from the US is good enough.

South Korea has a military budget 5 times that of the north. I suspect that South Korea would be able to handle themselves. Of course we'd help, but they may not need as much.
They're already here. Montreal has been hard hit, but they've managed to stop the spread. Use fire!Nah, I'm only signing up once the aliens invade.

NOOOOO!!! That's where the my hockey team is!
*Runs to recruiting center*
It has nothing to do with me . It would suck for all those people who end up in a war zone. But to tell the truth i have zero ties to Korea . Why should Canada lose 1000s of our boys ? Biggest thing Korean does for me is tech stuff like my lg monitor
I'm Canadian not American but this war really isn't any of the US's bussiness. Japan and China can handle it

Do you even understand nukes are more than a big Explosion right? if you where to nuke N.K teh radiationb would go to SK, Japan, Russia, and china. And you would Irradiate the ground making its unlivable *hint, Chernobyl*. Nukes are so worthless its not even funny. And then theres teh China Factor, od you even know how they would react? No chance, but seriously America just nuke North Korea already

Exactly. If anything, the only reason China cares is that they don't want refugees coming to their country.
Even if I sign up for the military, I doubt it would be much help to South Korea, as I don't expect the Malaysian military to do anything. :PChickity_China
Why would I join the military to fight in a war involving two countries I've never even been to? That makes no sense.clayronI'm sure most soldiers in WW2 never been to Europe or Asia either.
wouldn't NATO be involved?
LastCaveMan
No. NATO is North Atlantic, an alliance formed between the U.S. and Europe. SKorea is in the Pacific, a different zone.
We have different treaties covering Asian nations.

False analogy. The circumstances are vastly different.
i'm past the air force age limit although they may allow an exception considering i served 10 years total, called back in for 2.wouldn't want to join the army but if i were drafted i would like to be a forward observer.the only problem is money.how would i make my house payments, car payments,my oldest son is in the 1st year at clemson while my next oldest will be going in 3 years.

America is the only country I'd fight to preserve.

FYI, America isn't a country.
FYI, when most people around the world refer to "America", it normally represents the United States of America.
Just like instead of saying "United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" you say "Britain" or the "United Kingdom".

If you knew what he meant, if every person on the planet knows what he meant, what does it matter? Don't be "that guy," it's incredibly annoying.[QUOTE="Metal_Mario99"]
