Would you leave the country to avoid going to war?

If it was some intense war where survivability is 60% or lower I would definately head over to Mexico or Canada
no, I would begrudgingly go.. Not because I wouldn't want to join the military I often thought about doing it.. But the fact that it would most likely deal with a war that I did not support to begin with.. The wars in the past 50 years have had little to do with its defense or trying to help people, merely to go after the governments political and economic interests.sSubZerOoYeah, a second Pearl Harbor (9/11) was goverment intrests. Soviet Union, PAH, Communist dictation, PAH! Do the world some good and let bastards do their thing, kill, take over the world, and force ideaology upon their oppressed nation.
I'm signing up draft or not, I don't have much else that I'd rather do than fight for my country, rights, and give my family assured freedomSpicy-McHaggisYou do realize that America has fought in wars that have had nothing to do with protecting it's citizens, it's rights, or it's freedom right?
I'm already in the Army (Canadian Army that is and am still going through Basic) But if there was a draft that would suck because it would probably mean the world is going to ****. Also would mean i would be one of the first to go wherever it is and would very likely be killed or wounded.
Patriotism is the willingness to kill and be killed for trivial reasons. Patriotism is often an arbitrary veneration of real estate above principles. These two quotes sum my thoughts on patriotism perfectly..man you people seem to care a lot about the US

I'd go, but only if I had some kind of support job in the army - military intelligence, communications officer, sniper, whatever...I doubt I'd make a good grunt.
I'd show them my incredibly flat feet and avoid it all-together :Pferron321I have really flat fleet and I plan on going in the Army/Marines at one point or another :P

How do you think this country was founded?? Patriotism my friend patriotism and religous freedom and other reasons but still if George Washington and others like him didn't just run like cowards did they? no they stood and fought for what was right I could easily leave if I wanted but I would at least fight for as long as I could to protect this nation

You silly dolts. If you heard about a draft starting up, just join the Coast Guard or the Air Force. Dont let them pick for you.
