I agree 100%. They want equal rights, but only in the areas that will gain benefit (i.e. wages, benefits, job positions) the other stuff (manual labor, physical training tests, work hours) they want special treatment. WtfZ0tz?!RiSkyBiZ-13

I'd have to agree with you. They've been demanding the right to be equal for a century or two, and only a few that work incredably hard actually deserve the right to be equal.

Because they want the best of both worlds. A lot of these women and girls don't realize that the societal rules of "don't hit a girl" and "always pay for a woman's meal when dating" are directly connected to abandoned ones such as "don't let women vote". It used to be that women were seen as too weak to fend for themselves and were so fragile that they had to be shielded from life's cruelties (if that sounds familiar, its also the way in which children are viewed in western society) which is why today we still have those archaic practices such as holding a door open for a woman. Its also why back in the day women weren't allowed to vote.

To be fair though, the hardcore feminists usually hate getting the special treatments such as having a door held open for them because they recognize the mentality behind those acts.

I'd agree that women are better than men in certain respects they have much beter dexterity, but are definatly weaker physically.

and chivalry has alot to do with it, and they are as mentally and intelligently strong as men, its not like they all want this special treatment.

I too have noticed that we as a society seem to be stuck in some awkward gap between chivalry and feminism. The heterosexual dating scene seems to be one of the areas in which we're lagging the most; women are still seen as prizes to be won; courtship is almost entirely the duty of the males, with women reduced to "sending signals" and "keeping him guessing", often leading said females to miss out on what might have been a fulfilling casual or serious relationship, if only they had had the audacity to take some simple initiative. Then of course, the men are expected to do all the driving and pay for everything.

Yes, I know I'm speaking in very general terms, and no, I'm not trying to use the persistent lack of gender equality as "is-ought" justification thereof, or cannon fodder for some post-feminist backlash; I support total equality at all times, on both sides, and it pains me to see us still trudging through this painful transition period some 60 years after the advent of feminism.

Will we ever make it to the other side, and how long will it take? Only time will tell, but at the moment things certainly are not what they could be.

Heh, like I already explained the real reason is the exact opposite of that. Women are seen as inferior to men and get treated as such (the mentality for holding a door open for a woman is that they're too weak to open it. The idea behind not punching a female is that they're essentially punching bags. The idea behind paying women lower salaries is that since they aren't feeding their family they don't need as much money as a man. A woman can't be president because she would make our nation look weak. Get the idea?).

Those aren't my personal views, but you should stop deluding yourself that society is polite to women out of kindness.
